Testimony of a miracle… or rather, two!

By Olga Huysmans, Spain

A testimony of Mohanji’s grace and love

About 7 or 8 years ago, we realized that my daughter could not have children. At that time, she was in her twenties, but her body was not producing ovarian follicles, meaning that at such a young age—or perhaps even earlier—she was already experiencing early menopause. It was a hard blow, especially for her, as she deeply wished to become a mother.

Then the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, and all treatments were put on hold. However, in 2023, the hospital asked my daughter if she still wanted to have a child. Her response was a resounding yes, so they began preparing her uterus over the course of 3 to 4 months. Finally, the in vitro fertilization process was carried out thanks to an egg donor. At my daughter’s request, only one embryo was implanted. Although I had my doubts, based on past experiences of people close to me, the pregnancy progressed successfully. Soon after, we received an incredible surprise—she was not expecting one baby, but two! Two little boys were on their way. However, this journey would not be smooth, as obstacles quickly began to arise.

In May 2023, I traveled to Serbia to attend the Empowered 5.2 program, an 11-day retreat with Mohanji at the Mohanji Peace Center (MPC) in Obrenovac. On the last day, while I was outside the tent, I saw Mohanji approaching with some friends. I quickly walked toward them, but in my rush, I almost fell at Mohanji’s feet. He held me firmly and repeated several times: “I hold you, I hold you…”

Later, inside the tent, as I was saying goodbye, I showed Mohanji a family photo and told him that my daughter was going through a difficult pregnancy. There were several people in the picture, but he immediately pointed at her and asked if she was my daughter. When I confirmed, he placed his hand on the photo and blessed her. It was a beautiful and meaningful farewell. My stay in Serbia was physically challenging, as I experienced constant vomiting and diarrhea. However, when it was time to leave, I felt that a deep cleansing had taken place within me. I returned home feeling full and relieved.

Two days after I arrived back in Madrid, my daughter had to undergo emergency surgery. More precisely, the doctors had to operate on the babies while they were still in her womb due to twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, a common complication in monochorionic twin pregnancies.

Those were days of fear, stress, and anxiety for my daughter, her husband, and the entire family. After the surgery, she was ordered to remain on absolute bed rest, but about three weeks later, on the night of June 23, her water broke. She was rushed to Hospital La Paz, and from that moment on, the risk was even greater. If the babies had been born then, they would have had no chance of survival.

The doctors aimed to prolong the pregnancy until week 32, but in week 27, on July 17, they had to perform an emergency C-section. Samuel was born at 16:37:57, weighing only 620 grams, and Lucas at 16:39:33, weighing about 100 grams more. We could not celebrate their births because they were so tiny, fragile, and facing many challenges ahead.

What followed were weeks of uncertainty, anguish, and living hour by hour—there was no next week, not even tomorrow. I won’t go into details about everything the babies and we went through, as there are no words to describe such experiences.

What I do know is that we received Mai-Tri from Serbia and the Netherlands, a beautiful ritual from Slovenia, and many prayer and healing groups sent us their thoughts and prayers. Through all these collective efforts, the frequencies of love, solidarity, and empathy were elevated, bringing much-needed support and light. After more than two months in the ICU and over a month in an incubator, the babies were finally able to go home. They still have to visit the hospital in Madrid twice a week, take medication, attend specialist consultations, and undergo minor surgery, but they are here!

Countless times, the image of Mohanji’s hand over the family photo, the blessing, and his words have come to my mind: “I hold you, I hold you…” This has been my mantra, and it will remain so forever. All my love and gratitude to our global family and my beloved Mohanji.
