Are we aware of the amount of grace we have in our lives?
My mother was diagnosed with cancer in October 2023. Since then, life didn’t go as normal as before. Many challenges came along the way; things changed, and priorities changed.
From this perspective, every second of her life is a gift. Whether she or I are aware of it, everything that comes into our lives is pure grace. Let me explain where this awareness originated.
My grandparents have always been a significant part of my life, especially after my parents divorced. My mother and I lived with them for almost a year when I was 11 years old. Last year, when my mother fell ill, they took her in and cared for her daily, along with me. We were all deeply focused on her well-being. Initially, my family blamed me for influencing my mother to become vegan, which they viewed negatively. They even accused us of being in a sect because we had pictures of Mohanji in our home. It was challenging to explain this to my orthodox, rigid relatives who disapproved of any alternative lifestyle. However, a local doctor later confirmed that being vegan might have saved her life.
During this difficult time, I often turned to the Mohanji Family from around the world, and we received immense support for which I am incredibly grateful. I never missed telling my family what it means to be in the Mohanji Family and what Mohanji was doing for my mother. I know many people are facing this condition or have loved ones who are ill. And it takes immense faith, compassion, and surrender. Hats off to everyone; it truly takes courage.
In the beginning, the doctors were very honest about the seriousness of her condition, describing her as a critical patient with multiple diagnoses.
A year later, after surgery and with so much love, support, and grace from Mohanji, her scans showed no signs of cancer. She is now healthy and improving. Some doctors even described her recovery as “unexpectedly improved.” Many times when doctors came to me, pessimistic, I had a voice in my head saying, “They don’t know who Mohanji is.” Even though it was hard to listen to them in my emotional condition, the voice was still there, and it turned out to be the most truthful of all.
To connect the grace factor with my family, I will get back to my grandparents. I saw them almost daily, traveling back and forth to work and going to my hometown in Veles to care for my mother. About two months ago, my grandpa had to go to the apartment where my mother and I used to live to fix something, as I had come down with a fever the day before. While waiting for the handyman, he was looking at Mohanji’s picture in our home (I guess he is still wondering why it is there). Next to Mohanji’s picture was the coffee table book.
A few days later, when I visited their house, he told me that he read the book “by accident.” His exact words were, “I am fascinated by what Mohanji has written; every word has some meaning.” My grandma added that she now trusts Mohanji on this topic. I had often spoken to them about what he was doing for my mother and how much he was cleansing on an energy level, as much as they could understand. My grandparents are traditional people, well-known in their small town for their contributions to the local community.
They have been ambitious since a young age and have a reputation. A few times I have heard them say that I am in a sect and that the whole city is talking about me, judging me and what I am doing with the “man with the beard,” but not anymore. These new grandparents, from another dimension, were now open to talking to me. We grew closer than before, sharing an abundance of love and compassion. I felt how much Mohanji has done for them as well. I don’t know what he was doing, but I knew that everything that happened was much bigger than I could see.
Not everyone is so lucky to have a significant part of the family connected to Mohanji, which is happening now in my family. Gradually, at their own pace, people are coming closer to him. How much karma is being cleansed? If my mother hadn’t fallen ill and come to live with my grandparents, I wouldn’t have been there all the time, helping and caring for her and them. How would they have known about Mohanji and his grace without this incident? They could see for themselves how happy I was being connected with Mohanji.
On the other side of the family, my father had a heart attack two and a half years ago. I wrote a testimonial about this. During that time, I saw Mohanji in the operating room with him and knew everything would be fine. And it was. Now, he is a walking inspiration, studying and practicing Mohanji’s teachings with great focus for several hours every day. He is disciplined, but when it comes to Mohanji, he wants to learn everything, craving more literature, experiences, and talks.
How much grace do my family and I have in our lives? Do we forget to be grateful? Do I take things for granted? I remind myself of this every day. My connection to Mohanji was reflected not only in my life but also in the lives of my closest family members. Whatever people say in the end, and whatever reason is most logical to the mind, Mohanji is the one who saved my family. He sends unconditional love and help in various ways.
