Weekly Talk with Mohanji – a reflection

by Shaju Mangalam, India

Sundays have taken on a whole new meaning for me. For the past three weeks, I’ve had the privilege of attending Mohanji’s two-hour talk (discourse) and interactive Q&A session. People from across continents join in, disregarding time zones, to be part of this sacred exchange.

Earlier, Sundays often felt lazy and unproductive. But now, these evenings have become a source of deep reflection. Listening to Mohanji’s profound insights, drawn from his own experiences and unshakable conviction, is like rewinding life with greater clarity. It stirs in me a genuine desire to emulate even a fraction of what he has achieved through consistency and rock-solid determination.

I attended Mohanji’s satsang session on 3rd August, 2025, and it just gave me so much energy and conviction about the value of time. I wasted a lot of my time by living in the past, pretending that I was doing something, but the joy of being was missing, and it affected my life.

Though I do many things, there was no clarity or purpose to my actions. I was wandering by, keeping my mind off productive thinking. This session was so clear to me, and for some time, I couldn’t sleep as each quote from Mohanji was reverberating in my mind. I was asking myself – what am I doing!! An amazing process that made me rethink and redefine what I am doing and how I am living!! A very special day!

This past Sunday (17th August) was especially inspiring. Despite being unwell, Mohanji honoured his commitment and delivered an impactful session filled with practical wisdom. One point that struck me deeply was his response to an attendee’s statement: “My plate is full, I have so much to do.” Mohanji rejected this perception outright, explaining that there is no such thing as a full plate. The feeling arises only when we drift away from the present moment and obsess over pending tasks. His advice was simple yet powerful—focus on one thing at a time, immerse yourself fully, and don’t allow the mind to scatter into a hundred directions. The moment we deviate from the task at hand, we invite defeat. This rings so true because many people claim to be “too busy” yet accomplish little. Their to-do lists remain endless, unfinished, and ultimately fail to make any meaningful impact on life.

Mohanji emphasised that any form of dependency weakens one’s existence. The more we function independently with clarity and conviction, the greater the results we achieve. He referred to his own journey, explaining how it was built with an unwavering, independent mind. He always moves forward, whether anyone chooses to accompany him or not.

Another point that stayed with me was his emphasis on documenting our experiences. By writing them down, we connect more deeply with ourselves. It allows us to trace how our life has moved, to recognise the patterns and lessons, and to see clearly how we can continue to evolve.

In many ways, journaling becomes a mirror of our inner journey, helping us grow with awareness rather than just drifting along.

The weekly satsangs are a great opportunity for us to connect with Mohanji and imbibe the simple things that he shares with us, lighting the way forward for each one of us.

Thank you, Mohanji!
