On Wednesday evenings, the UK Mohanji Team host an online meditation. On the 15th April, the Lord Jagannatha mediation was chosen. Many of the group have a strong connection with this meditation. It’s fair to say that we like it.
Mohanji has previously explained its significance, observing that we have taken numerous lives to arrive where we are now, and we are all carrying the huge weight of our karmic burden. In this context, it’s important that we start thinking, contemplating and meditating on what our ultimate reality is. Human beings are the only species that can attain supreme consciousness; humanity is the path, and it is a priceless opportunity.
Mohanji notes that being connected to Lord Jagannath is our deepest blessing, and through this meditation, we seek to assimilate the Master’s essence. When we realise and experience our connection to the Master and our unity with supreme consciousness, all our identifications change. We experience that we are not the identification that we are used to in society. Inside us, we are the consciousness, and when consciousness connects to consciousness, all that remains is consciousness. This is the pathway and the goal of all seeking.
The group mediation was beautiful. I felt held in stillness, watching and feeling the play of energies through the spine and into the crown and third eye centres, inspired by the meditation as narrated by Mohanji. We all individually shared and expressed our gratitude at the end of the mediation through our circle of gratitude practice.
Following the Wednesday evening group mediation, I met Shyama via WhatsApp to reset my computer using an authentication code so I could access the Mohanji platform and lead Kriya the next morning. The previous Thursday, I was unable to lead Kriya because my device required re-authentication. We both acknowledged that the inability to access the platform for this reason was unusual and, to our knowledge, had not happened before. I mentioned that this felt like a reset, particularly in the context of the previous week’s experiences.
9:45 pm Wednesday 15th April
On retiring, Jenny mentioned that she saw me moving or vibrating with the energy of the meditation at its conclusion. Yes I reply. The energy of the meditation remained with me. I sit cross-legged in silence, feeling the energy of the meditation moving up and down through my spine and enjoying the play of it. An image of a white king cobra rises up the spine, and its hood opens up over a white lingam in the centre of my head. This has happened once before on Easter Sunday 2025.
I see Shiva before my mind’s eye. The energy drops from the crown of my head into my heart centre. Amrit begins to emerge from the roof of the back of my mouth and slides down my throat. It is beautiful. The taste of Amrit is in my mouth, and a sticky Amrit substance is on my lips. The energy moves up and down, into the lower centres, and, in particular, there is an energetic sensation in my solar plexus. I don’t want this experience to end, but I sense it must, as it is an experience, and all experiences pass.
My attention goes to Mohanji, Sai Baba, Ganesha, Hanuman and Mother in gratitude for the experience. Mother then arrives before my mind’s eye in the form of Devi Amma – she is smiling and beautiful and reassuring with a gentle perfume. I see Mother with a wide vision, as if she were expanding, filling all available space. She is so clear that it feels like I am watching her in her apartment in India through a form of remote vision.
Mother begins to manipulate the energy in the right side of my body. I hear a high-pitched sound in my right ear, which is not uncomfortable, and a sensation flows from my ear to my right jaw. I feel a division between both sides of my body. The taste of Amrit is with me, but I must wake early to lead Kriya, so I lie down to sleep. Thank you, Mohanji, Sai Baba, Ganesha, Hanuman, and Mother. It is 10.45 pm, and I have spent an hour in gratitude and quiet joy with beloved Masters. I enter sleep.
Thursday 16th April 2026
It is 12:30 am. I wake from a dream. I am writing this at 1:25 am as I cannot sleep. The picture of Mohanji sitting in silence was already on the page upon which I now write, with the rest of the page blank underneath. In the dream, I become aware in a bright, carefree place filled with happy people and colourful light. Suddenly, rumours spread of people dying instantly from an unknown cause, and panic grows.
I flee with an unfamiliar man and woman into an apartment building. On the ground floor, I find ash-like remains of people I once knew—when touched, their forms collapse completely. Realising this could be our fate, we take a lift to the top floor, hoping for safety. We enter a stark white apartment. As I approach a bathroom, a being emerges—I understand it is the cause of the deaths.
The man with me reveals he knows this being, shocking me; I feel I’ve been led into a trap. I urge the woman to run. The being reaches for me, and I hold its wrists, knowing I can’t resist for long but buying her time. She escapes into another room—but I realise too late that there is no exit. There is no escape. At that moment of realisation, I wake.
12:30 am
I contemplate the dream. I do not feel fearful. The bodies reminded me of those that I have seen preserved in time and ash in Pompeii, Italy. These are plaster casts made by filling voids left in hardened volcanic ash by decomposed bodies after the pyroclastic flow killed residents. The ash cemented them, preserving their poses, and as bodies decayed, they left perfectly detailed hollows in the ash, which were then cast.
I feel that the dream of dead bodies represents the binding connections, with karmic relationships and personality identifications removed and burnt away. The man and woman represent Pingala and Ida. The lift is the Sushumna. The being that turns people, i.e., the ego, into ash is…….?
Mohanji guides us in the practice of Kriya yoga that the unified energies must naturally rise up through the central nadi or channel without force or premature activation. For safety’s sake, there should be no escaping or deviation of kundalini energy through the Pingala and Ida nadi or channel. The supervision and guidance of a Master is required for this purpose.
I feel as if I am on the edge of a threshold, but I am not fearful. I simply have to have faith in the Master and patience, and so I record the experiences of the night, as this may have value. I enter sleep at 2:00 am and awake at 4:00 am. I rise for practice and Kriya.

As it is Thursday, the Weekly Sri Sai Satcharitra Parayan by Mohanji Foundation UK is taking place, and I have been allocated Chapter 35 to read. As with last week’s allocated chapter 34, this chapter also focuses on Baba’s sacred ash, or Udi. In chapter 35, Baba urges us to “do away with and destroy the wall (sense of difference) between us, so that we can see and meet each other face to face.”
Sathya Sai Baba taught that sacred ash (Vibhuti) is a powerful symbol of Divinity, renunciation, and the final state of all things, which serves as a reminder to destroy the ego and worldly attachments. Sai explained that when any object, symbolising the body’s name and form, is completely burnt, it is reduced to ash, representing the destruction of separateness and the realisation of non-dualistic oneness. From that spiritual point of view, Vibhuti is the most precious object.
Shiva burnt the God of Desire into a heap of ashes, for he agitates the mind and increases the confusion already existing there. When the God of desire was destroyed, Prema (Love) reigned supreme.
At the 2024 retreat in Macedonia, I presented Devi Amma’s book “The Divine Couple” to Mohanji with a request that he add an endorsement to it. Mohanji, gracious as always, did so, but in returning the book to me, he said that the time for reading was over, and what was required now was experiences.
I also noted in the most recent online Satsang, Mohanji observed that a Master will give experiences when the student is ready for the purpose of realisation of truth or in other words, the realisation of that which is already sitting in you. Truth cannot be fully understood through the intellect, and must be experienced for transformation to occur with acceptance and awareness as the method, through consistent connection with conviction. When you experience, then what you speak and live is authentic.
Mohanji reassures by example that when consciousness connects to consciousness, all that remains is consciousness. This is the pathway and the goal of all seeking.
