Birthday celebrations at the Mohanji Center of Benevolence in Ganeshpuri, Mumbai, India

Mohanji’s birthday this year came as a conclusive, celebratory end to the Divine Trails of Datta Retreat and the 2024 Mohanji Global Summit. This event was made special by the location — the event was held on the land of the quickly-forming Mohanji Datta Tapovan near Ganeshpuri, Maharashtra.

The birthday celebrations started in the afternoon and the assembled dignitaries gathering to light two lamps. This was followed by a beautiful opening piece of music sang by the renowned Odissi singer, Mahaprasad Kar, who was also present as a dignitary. Then came the first of many book launches of the event, which included the 2023 Global Impact Report that presents the year’s achievements of Mohanji Foundation and various other platforms founded by Mohanji. Soon after, Mohanji addressed the audience and thanked them profusely for taking time to congregate on this occasion. He shared that he looked at his birthday as a reminder – that we have a limited time on earth and a responsibility to make the earth a better place for us having been here.

After the first set of book launches, we were treated to a spectacular performance of a condensed Ramayana by the Himalayan School of Traditional Dance. Thematic backgrounds displayed on the large LED screen behind the dancers made it an immersive performance to remember.

Before the first tea break, there were also more book launches, which included a revised and upgraded edition of the book Baba: Mohanji and Masters, and also a presentation by the newly formed World Tribal Alliance, which aims to give worldwide voice to tribal and indigenous people from all areas of the globe. Mohanji then invited the present dignitaries, including 𝗚𝗼𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗷𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗷, 𝗦𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗷, 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗷, 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗶 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗿, 𝗗𝗿 𝗚 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗿, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶 𝗔𝗺𝗺𝗮, to the stage and gifted them a shawl and a special memento marking the day.

Following on from the tea break, we were treated to a teaser presentation by M House Media for their upcoming animated movie based around the lives of Kamadhenu and Nandini, the mother-and-daughter cows now based at MCB Australia.

Then came two upbeat Mohanji-inspired songs by Manaswini and more book launches that included two latest instalments of the iconic Guru Leela Series of testimonial books about Mohanji. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗱 – 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗶𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟰 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗶 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, sharing their deepest experiences and perspectives of the various dimensions of Mohanji.

This was followed by a spirited musical performance by children who sang three wonderful bhajans, two of them about Guruvayurappan, to the joy of Mohanji and many other Krishna devotees in the crowd.

This was followed appropriately by a presentation video about the grand project of building a replica of the grand Guruvayurappan temple in Vrindavan—the place of Lord Krishna’s birth and childhood. After this, also on the theme of Guruvayurappan, came the release, by the Himalayan School of Traditional Music, of Hindi and Odia versions of 16th century Malayalam poem Njanappana that is in praise of Lord Guruvayurappan.

As the final set of book launches came around, the main program concluded with an impactful video about the formation of Mohanji Centres of Benevolence worldwide.

The celebrations reached a crescendo with Mohanji’s cake cutting, happy birthday singing in three languages (English, Serbian and Hindi), and two very special announcements. The first related to the formation of a global council of nine leaders, who, supervised by Mohanji, will be overseeing the strategic and policy decisions of the organisation in a democratic manner. Secondly, after much deliberating and constant creative re-working, an official Mohanji Idol was unveiled that will be available for devotees to purchase and bring Mohanji into their own spaces in an even more lifelike mode.

The event came to a close with a sumptuous dinner, consisting of a delectable spread of vegan food, reiterating Mohanji’s commitment to a cruelty-free lifestyle and creating vegan sanctuaries around the world.

The smooth flowing nature of the diverse presentations, mixing music, dance, literature and inspiring presentations, made Mohanji’s 59th birthday an evening for all to remember. May all of us who are connected to Mohanji feel grateful to have experienced another year with his living, benevolence and empowering presence on this earth.

Hello, my dear friends,

I thank each and every one of you for sending me birthday wishes and I really appreciate your time and remembrance and for being with me on February 23rd for my birthday. I appreciate your love, your companionship, and, above all, keeping me in your heart; I am grateful; I am sincerely grateful.

I may not be able to reply to each one of you individually because there are quite a few messages, and they have come from various sources; through various channels, they have reached me. I may not be able to reply directly because I have been traveling, and now I am in Australia, and our programs are about to begin. Many people are here, and I will meet some of you here. I will meet some of you in America in April, and some of you I will meet in Europe. But I would like to meet all of you this year and all other years.

I feel life is pretty short to enjoy all the love we can obtain from the world. I would like you to think about the abundance of love we have around us instead of looking for something that is not love, any other emotion that has nothing to do with love. Look into the depth of love we have around us and within us. First, we explore the love within us and express it unconditionally. We also feel the love around us in a reciprocal way, and then we will know that it is worth this life. Life is worth it. I feel it that way.

When I receive all your love and wishes, I feel life is worth it. I have gone through tremendous situations in life that were very painful and sorrowful, but above all, when I receive all your love, your kindness, and your compassion, I feel grateful, immensely grateful. I am grateful to the Tradition for putting me in this world amidst all of you. And I also feel grateful to each and every one of you for showering me with all this love. If I am able to make a positive difference in your life, I am sincerely grateful.

I attribute it to the grace of the Tradition of Liberation of great Masters, amazing Masters who walked this Earth and continue to walk this Earth to fulfill the hearts of people, to give kindness, to give love, to give compassion, to bring back righteousness. I am happy and grateful again that you are all part of it. I honestly feel abundant with your presence in my life. Thank you once again.

I wish you great health, great vitality and great connection. Let this relationship remain forever, unconditionally. Let us not judge each other, let us not criticize, let us not doubt, let us not alienate, let us be love. Let us be love forever.

On the eve of Mohanji’s birthday, MCB Australia now have a dedicated area for the Masters of our tradition. The energy and the vibrations have changed inside the temple noticeably and is being felt by one and all, not just the residents but by people who don’t live in MCB and visit us.

Canada

It was not just another day but a very auspicious day of our dear and most loved, respected, our mentor, guide and a great spiritual master Mohanji’s 59th Birthday. We can’t thank the universe enough for giving Mohanji to us. The morning started at the Ashram with kakad aarati and Shirdi Sai Baba’s Abhishek As the team members did the Abhishek, each drop of water offered to Baba was filled with deep gratitude. The totality of a Master is contained within his feet. So after Baba’s Abhishek conducting Mohanji’s Paduka Pujan (holy feet worship) was the most natural way to worship Mohanji. The deities at the Ashram were all dressed up in new clothes for this occasion.

After a devotional morning filled with bhakti and bhaav, and noon aarati evening celebrations started after dhoop aarati. The group sat down for some quiet time with a short guided Freedom Meditation. To meditate with powerful vibrations around in the ashram on such a powerful day was a cherry on top. A delicious cake was cut to wish Mohanji a very happy birthday. An amazing story was narrated by our team member Shriram who brought the cake that as he went pick the cake, the person in the cake shop asked him if Mohanji was someone special as two more cakes were ordered by people addressed to same name. The evening ended with some joyous moments with food and shej aarati thereafter.

Agra

On the occasion of Mohanji’s Birthday, a beautiful Power of Purity meditation was conducted in Agra. The program began with chanting shloka from Guru Gita followed by meditation and bhajan. Prasad was served in the end. Mohanji blessed the host of the event by appearing in her vision later that night and hugged and healed her.

Bangalore

Bangalore group gathered to celebrate our beloved Gurus birthday with full zest and enthusiasm. There were bhajans, chanting of Mohanji Gayatri Mantra, Shirdi Sai Miracle Meditation, MET, Mohanji aarati conducted. Few felt extreme positivity and calmness at the place and as usual Mohanji’s energy was tangible to many of us. His presence was what elevated the energy. We had satsang and experience sharing and all of them felt extremely energized in the group energy and in the presence of the beautiful Mohanji family! Wishing our Guru a very happy & blessed birthday from Bangalore team.

Chennai

Mohanji’s birthday celebrations culminated on 23rd morning with a satsang held in Chennai. The program included chanting the Mohanji Gayatri, Sri Sai Baba miracle mediation and Mohanji’s Aarati. All the participants felt immensely happy and peaceful after the session. There was a discussion on Mohanji’s life and his impact on some of us. Discussions continued over lunch on many gurus of the Tradition.

Jammu

The celebrations for Mohanji’s birthday in Jammu featured prayers and a cultural program by the children of the Mohanji School of Supplementary Education, followed by cake cutting. The event concluded with the serving of samosas, noodles, and cake to 50 children, who thoroughly enjoyed the festivities.

On the 23rd of February, an auspicious day, a big group of amazing people from Mohanji Macedonia joined together to celebrate the birthday of our Guru, our light, our eternal happiness, Mohanji, where the energy effortlessly flowed, and we could feel his presence and blessings. The visit of Mohanji in Macedonia was officially announced, after which you could see many more joyful faces. The evening was crowned with meditation, aarati, mantras, bhajans, and cakes. We are most grateful for the opportunity to be with people who have similar frequencies, and thanks to Mohanji, we are all together in a beautiful and harmonious unity.

Serbia

We share with you a part of the atmosphere from the celebration of Mohanji’s birthday from our beautiful Mohanji Center of Peace in Obrenovac where carried by the vibration of mantras, we immersed ourselves in peace, expanded our hearts in meditation and exchange experiences of a spiritual journey to ourselves. With great gratitude for everything we experienced in the Mohanji Center of Peace in Belgrade that is closing, with meditation, the Power of Purity, and a lot of emotions, we opened ourselves to the infinity of new possibilities. An informal gathering of volunteers marked the birthday on the last day of the exhibition on Mohanji’s life and contribution to the world at the Gallery Headquarters with joyful singing aarati. With a beautiful vegan cake and the words “May you live long, dear Mohanji, that’s what your friends wish,” we continue together to celebrate consciousness, love, and gratitude.

A Month-long Celebration Culminates in Joy!
After a month filled with joyous celebrations spanning across Provinces in honor of Mohanji’s birthday, the journey finally led us back “home” to the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in Nonoti. There’s a unique warmth and serenity that envelopes us when we celebrate in the abode of our beloved Mother, Father, and Guru, Mohanji.

The culmination of our month-long festivities at our spiritual “home” was nothing short of magical. As we gathered, enveloped in the aura of love and devotion, we experienced a profound sense of bliss. The air was filled with gratitude and reverence for the presence of Mohanji in our lives.

However, the celebration wasn’t just confined to spiritual bliss; it extended to acts of kindness and service to the community. Over 270 community members were welcomed with open arms, and hearts filled with compassion. We shared not only warm meals but also sweet treats, symbolizing the sweetness of our collective love and unity. In embracing the spirit of Mohanji’s teachings, we found fulfillment in serving others, in extending our love beyond boundaries.

It was a celebration that transcended mere festivities; it was a celebration of the spirit of giving, of compassion, and of unity. The culmination of the celebration saw everyone gathering to cut 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚k𝐞, extending heartfelt birthday wishes to Mohanji as an expression of their profound gratitude and love for their beloved Guru.

Following this heartwarming moment, all attendees savored a delightful vegan dinner meticulously prepared with love by dedicated volunteers, further enhancing the spirit of camaraderie and appreciation that permeated the gathering. Mohanji’s profound presence and boundless love permeated every moment, evoking feelings of joy, contentment, and deep affection in all attendees. The evening stood as a powerful testament to the unity and closeness shared among members of the Mohanji family.

Mohanji Youth Club volunteers joined Mohanji for a joyous celebration of his 59th birthday at Ganeshpuri on Feb 23, 2024! Honoring and appreciating all the love, guidance, inspiration, and support we have received from Mohanji, we completed our 30-day feeding challenge on Mohanji’s birthday! 

Spreading our love and cheer further, MYC, in collaboration with Ammucare, distributed meals at four rural schools in Ganeshpuri. The kids, with their innocence and shyness, melted our hearts.  For many, these school meals are the only source of food they receive for the day. Seeing their excitement upon receiving sweets (delicious jalebis and gulab jamuns), filled us with immense happiness! Jovan from Serbia also joined our bandwagon of fun. We were all delighted to be in the joyful presence of these kids and youth.  We thank Ammucare, Mr. Bharat Thiyya and the cooks at Hotel Ganesh Darbar, as well as the two auto drivers who took us around Ganeshpuri, for their wonderful local support.  Thank you Mohanji. On the auspicious occasion of Mohanji’s birthday – Feb 23rd, we were delighted to present the timeless tale of “𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐤𝐚 𝐔𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐦, 𝐒𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐉𝐞𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐦!” encapsulated in the concise epic of Nama Ramayana at Ganeshpuri.

The story commences with King Dasaratha’s deep concern about his lack of an heir. The revered sage Rishyashringar performs a yagna, and as a result, King Dasaratha and his wives being blessed with four sons: Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha, and Shatrughna.

The story unfolds further as Rama and Lakshmana, under the guidance of sage Vishwamitra, join to safeguard the yagna conducted by the sages. They journey through the forest adorned with majestic trees and breathtaking scenic beauty. Along the way, they courageously vanquish the demons terrorizing the forest. Rama also liberates Ahalya from her curse and defeats the demoness Tataka. Guided by the sage Vishwamitra, they arrive in Mithila for Sita’s swayamvara. The lifting of Lord Shiva’s bow, a feat only achievable by Rama, culminates in the splendid union of Rama and Sita.

Himalayan School of Traditional Music

For Mohanji’s birthday, a grand project was launched in Ganeshpuri. It was building a replica of the grand Guruvayurappan temple in Vrindavan—the place of Lord Krishna’s birth and childhood. After this, also on the theme of Guruvayurappan, came the release, by the Himalayan School of Traditional Music, of Hindi and Odia versions of 16th century Malayalam poem Njanappana that is in praise of Lord Guruvayurappan.
