The Journey of the Ring: From Baba’s Boy to Baba’s Son

Biljana and Mohanji

This year’s Guru Purnima (13th July 2022), a group of close and dedicated volunteers from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia and the Netherlands, gathered at the Mohanji Centre in Novi Sad to be in Mohanji’s presence. I also had the great privilege to celebrate this auspicious and joyous occasion with our beautiful Mohanji family. During the function, we gave Mohanji flowers, fruits and other offerings to express gratitude for his divine presence in our lives.

We also bowed down and touched his feet to physically demonstrate our surrender with deep love to his all-encompassing consciousness. I realised the deeper meaning of touching a Master’s feet. It denotes our surrender to rid of ownership, release our burdens and set an intention for our vision and ultimate life purpose. Thus, we can stay focused on achieving and expressing our highest while keeping our egos under control. It does not matter whether we bow down physically in Mohanji’s presence, in front of Mohanji’s image or even mentally. Can it be any simpler?

Touching and kissing the lotus feet of Mohanji, my Guru, Guardian, Guide and Goal, is the greatest gift I can get in all my past, present, and future lives. May He always permit me to be the servant of His servants, nothing more, nothing less.” – Dirk

When we gave our offerings to one of his assistants, he accepted it with a smile and gratitude, yet detached and disinterested. He blessed the offerings and later had them distributed among the assembled people. The pure intention of gratitude, respect and love in our hearts mattered more than our offerings. Sincerity and receptivity were the most precious gifts we offered from hearts melting in gratitude. In return, we received something precious beyond lifetimes, taking us to liberation and complete dissolution. I felt his occasional subtle smiles reveal his inner joy at the transformation he effected as he worked on us.

I realised that he cared not whether we gave him a million dollars or just a flower. From my Consciousness Kriya initiation as a fresher to the many times I volunteered as a photographer at various programs during my decade-plus association with him, Mohanji always behaved the same way. The growth of the mission has not changed him in any way. He always showed the same detachment and dispassion to avoid contamination by name, fame, adulation, wealth, and other Maya’s (the grand illusion) traps.

As Sai Baba has said (from the book ‘Sai Satcharita’- Chapter 13), “Though I have become a Fakir, have no house or wife, and though leaving off all cares, I have stayed at one place, the inevitable Maya teases Me often. Though I forgot Myself, I cannot forget Her. She always envelops Me. This Maya (illusive power) of the Lord (Shri Hari) teases God Brahma and others; then what to speak of a poor Fakir like Me? Those who take refuge in the Lord will be freed from Her clutches with his grace”.

When one is highly active in adding value to the world and increasing humankind’s awareness to being kind humans, one has to contend with opposing forces who aim to keep all beings in suffering and illusion. They even try to corrupt or contaminate Masters, trying to do good in the world, and, if that does not work, destroy them. The Masters of the Tradition know that and support Mohanji’s mission because it is the need of this time – to raise Earth’s vibration and re-establish dharma. Mohanji does this on a wide scale through various platforms that support the many varied and unique expressions of 7.5 billion people on the planet. He reminds people of their full potential and urges them to be themselves.

One of the function attendees was Dirk van de Wijngaard from the Netherlands. He had lived with Sathya Sai Baba and is now Mohanji’s staunch devotee who is in deep loving communion with Mohanji all the time. Dirk says, “Sai Baba and Mohanji are one and the same. Mohanji is my all-in-one Guru (spiritual Master). If I pray to Krishna, Mohanji will appear as Krishna; if I pray to Radha, Mohanji appears as Radha, and so on. In my meditation, I can see everyone in Him! Mohanji is not his body, just as Krishna, Rama, Jesus etc., were not limited to their respective forms. Mohanji only uses his body so that you can experience His light, presence, guidance, and divine love. Mohanji can also come to love or test your devotion in any form – a bird, cat, dog, crazy man, beggar, weird person, etc. When you become a serious full-time devotee, you will always feel Mohanji’s presence and will never be alone anymore!”

Guru Poornima at the Mohanji Centre, Novi Sad

During the function, Dirk related his extraordinary experiences with Sathya Sai Baba and Mohanji. Before leaving, Mohanji asked us to continue our experience sharing. Then Dirk told us more stories. I could feel how Mohanji was working through him. His rhythm, tone, cadence and messages were similar to Mohanji. Dirk illustrated his learnings with examples from his life. Surprisingly, Dirk had never listened to Mohanji before Mohanji’s program in the Netherlands the previous month. A few of Dirk’s messages follow.

The following message from Mohanji has been the guiding principle in my life, “Turn pain into purpose. All successful people who have excelled in something had some pain in life.”

Do not be arrogant, self-important, or egoistic; else, life will pull you down. Be humble always. He related the following story to elucidate the point better. A lorry driver, proud of his earnings of fifteen thousand rupees, looked down upon rickshaw drivers who earned barely fifty rupees. This went on for a while. Once while driving, he was laughing at the rickshaw drivers when a bee entered his mouth and stung him. The piercing pain shocked him, and he lost control over the lorry. The lorry turned over, and it was severely damaged. When he filed damage claims with the insurance company, the officer inquired, “How did the accident happen?”. He responded, “A bee entered my mouth and stung me.” The officer replied, “Your insurance does not cover this.” He ended up paying his entire salary for the damages. That is how life orchestrates events to humiliate arrogant or conceited people.

Be Humble

In many cases, we don’t know what we need, what is good for us or our eligibility. Hence, we ask for the wrong things or get much less than we can receive. Masters give us what we need, not what we desire. They always give us more than what we deserve and our eligibility. Hence, it is best to leave it to the Master to decide what is best for us. Mohanji always emphasises the need to be focused in our approach. He says, “When you knock on one door countless times, you are a seeker. When you knock on many doors, you are a beggar. Follow One Master – One Path – One System – One Goal.”

A baby cries when hungry, thirsty, tired, or demanding attention. Who attends to it? Usually, the mother or father. If the baby is alone, other people would say, “Oh, no, someone’s baby is crying.” Similarly, who responds when you pray while sad, desperate, or eager for divine presence? Your Master! Because your Master connects to you through the love in your heart. Remember that when you pray to all Masters, nobody is responsible, and hence, none may come to help. If you pray to one Master, they come to help you, just like parents do for their aggrieved baby.

Your deep connection to one Master ensures grace from all Masters since they are one consciousness. Any Master suitable to provide the necessary help may show up. It is similar to your parent’s close family and friends being available to help you because they love your parent and, consequently, their child – you. Were it not for the parents, their close friends and family have no connection to you.

An Answer to my Longing

In striving to be one with Mohanji, a wish had crept in and kept growing. I was longing for regular communication with him and working under his direct guidance, as I did ten to twelve years ago. I already have responsibilities in his mission to lead or work as a member of several global teams. By connecting with Mohanji, I can see what is needed and attend to it or start new initiatives. But this desire was torturing me. I often wondered how to get closer to the fire (Mohanji). Instead of longing for a merger, the Maya-induced separation, slithering like a snake, entered my mind. I didn’t tell anyone about it, nor was I consciously aware of it much.

Translating Dirk’s talk filled me with profound wonder and awe. He told us about his sudden unplanned trip to Novi Sad. He wanted to spend Guru Purnima (13th July) sitting in a corner in silence in Mohanji’s blissful presence. On 9th July 2022, around 3.30 a.m., when Dirk was in deep meditation, Mohanji telepathically told him, “Dirk, I want you to be with me on Guru Purnima. ” Dirk asked, “For silent meditation, Mohanji?” Mohanji replied, “Yes.”

Dirk wondered how to arrange finances to buy flight tickets from the Netherlands to Belgrade and accommodation in Novi Sad. A friend offered to pay for the tickets, and the Mohanji community arranged for his stay. With all obstacles removed, Dirk came to Serbia on 12th July for the first time in his life. Yet, he felt that he had been there in previous lives. In the early morning, as usual, Dirk got up at 2.30 a.m., took a bath, recited his prayers and mantras, and made a beautiful flower garland for Mohanji for Guru Purnima. Later, Mohanji, his staff and Dirk travelled by train to Belgrade and arrived there early in the morning.

Dirk had planned to be in complete silence the whole day! But funnily enough, Mohanji invited him to talk about his experiences at all the sessions. Man proposes, God disposes. Dirk spoke several times in different cities. He held the audience spellbound as they listened to him in rapt attention. People were eager to hear about his experience with Sathya Sai Baba, Shirdi Sai Baba, and Mohanji. Masters orchestrate events based on dharmic purpose, i.e. the cosmic order, not personal desires.

Mohanji told us about Shirdi Sai Baba’s appearance in different forms after the prana pratishtha (ritual to infuse an idol with the deity’s energy) of his idol in the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in South Africa. The first time he came as a beggar who spoke perfect English, sat down but asked nothing. Mohanji directed one of the team members to donate clothes and a blanket to him. Later, when Mohanji was having a meal, he heard a voice, “You are eating inside, while I am hungry outside.” He looked outside and saw a dog. Realising it to be Shirdi Sai Baba in a dog’s form, Mohanji asked someone to feed the dog well. Thus, he impressed upon the audience to serve all beings with equal love and respect since deities and Masters can appear in any form.

After Dirk had related his experiences with Sathya Sai Baba, Shirdi Sai Baba and Mohanji, Mohanji turned to me and said, “See! We don’t talk via WhatsApp or any other way. It is all telepathic communication.” Thus, he addressed my longing. I realised that I should strive to communicate with him within- through meditation, Kriya or just deep silence. It was a wake-up call. A huge relief as I understood that Mohanji is always with me. There is no need to see or communicate with him. Of one heart, we communicate internally, and the message clarity will improve with time as I tune in more and more. This ‘innernet’ communication is not bound by time, space, or even the body. I am grateful for that forever.

In this regard, Dirk sounded out a warning, “Please remember- ABC: Always Be Careful. Many mentally sick or selfish, egoistic people may say, “Mohanji speaks through me”. They tell you nice stories or what you may want to hear, offer Shaktipat or promise enlightenment. Some may even ask for money in return. Never believe them. Stay single-pointedly focused on Mohanji, who only wants your love through duty, discipline and sincere devotion. You can achieve the highest through sincere and honest prayers and selfless service to the poor, helpless, needy, animals, flowers, trees, birds and fishes. Just thinking of Mohanji can make your heart warm and the tears flow. Be assured that Mohanji is always with you and gives the darshan in the ashram of your heart.”

He continues, “Mohanji is all Gurus, all deities, all beings – Dattatreya, Krishna, Rama, Sarada Devi, Radha, Parvati, etc. Mohanji’s divine love is always available to those who need pure divine guidance. If you love him, you need nothing else. Only as full-timers can you experience his stature and purity. Your connection and dedication make Him responsible for you. He is helpless before those who surrender completely to him. He has been watching over us over many lifetimes and has come here only to take us back to our real home. Surrender 100% and live his teachings – you will never be alone anymore. I have spoken about my life story (given below) to inspire everyone to become full-timers and unconditionally connect to Mohanji’s lotus feet. Never question where He takes you because if you become a full-time devotee, you are already home! There is no need to go anywhere else.”

In addition to Dirk’s comments, I would close with this word of caution mentioned by Mohanji in his book, ‘The Silence of Shiva’

“Let me make one thing clear. This body, existing today, is called Mohanji, and it will remain so till my last breath. People may confer titles before or after this name, but the name stays the same. This body is not Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Sai Baba, or Jesus. These are names of bodies (of certain people) of the past. Their consciousness is certainly One, eternal and eternally available. Hence, one can connect to them effortlessly. One may see the reflection of their object of connection in me. That does not make me that object. There could be resemblances and character similarities, but one is certainly not the other. A son may resemble the father, but he is not his father. Do not be affected by or connected to me while imagining or thinking of this as someone else’s body. That will lead to disillusionment and disappointment. Do not be disillusioned.”

Dirk van de Wijngaard

Dirk and Mohanji

At just eight years, I lost my mother. She was raped and murdered. Sorrow and grief rent my heart, tearing me apart and accumulating immense pain and heaviness. My drunkard father always scorned me. At twenty-nine, my wife eloped with my ‘best’ friend. After she left, I was no longer interested in life and people and started drinking heavily – two bottles of whisky/cognac and twelve litres of beer daily!

On 25th June 1989, I had a clear dream where a man with a full Afro hairstyle, a mole on his cheek, wearing an orange-coloured lady’s night dress, was sitting on a huge lotus flower.  In a loving motherly voice, he told me, “Now the time has come to tell you about the Love of Life and the Life of Love, come to Me, and I will give you a mission.” I thought I was going mad.

The next day I went to see my doctor regarding my liver issues. I told him about the previous night’s dream of this ‘Turkish’ man with an Afro and asked if I had gone crazy. The doctor replied, “No, you are not going mad. You have a serious liver problem. You are hardly eating food and are coughing blood. Unfortunately, you barely have six to nine months to live!” Then he asked me to wait a moment and went inside to get something. He returned with a book titled ‘Sai Baba Avatar’ and asked if the man on its cover was the one I saw in my dream.

Cover of the book ‘Sai Baba Avatar’

I exclaimed,” Yes, that’s him – the Turkish man with the Afro hairstyle.” The doctor said, “He is Indian, not Turkish. His name is Sathya Sai Baba- an Avatar who lives in India at Puttaparthi.” Puttaparthi conveys the meaning: put apart ‘I’. (No ‘me’ or ‘mine’. No ownership.) The doctor continued, “I cannot save you from death. You have nothing to lose anymore. Please go there.” With help, I arranged for tickets for my maiden flight experience to visit India for the first time in my life, accompanied by the only trusted friends of a thirty-three-year-old alcoholic – two bottles of whisky and twenty-four half-litre bottles of beer.

I went to Sathya Sai Baba’s ashram in Puttaparthi. Being an alcoholic, no one paid me any attention. When I went for darshan for the first time, seva dals came to me and informed me that Sai Baba had invited me for an interview. I thanked them and said, “I am neither religious nor pure or devoted like the others. I can never be with such holy people. Also, I am a dying alcoholic. Please take someone else!” But, Sathya Sai Baba’s commands were words-of-law. Not giving up, the seva dals helped me to my feet and brought me gently to the interview room in Sathya Sai Baba’s presence.

He asked me, “How are you?” I said, “Good.” Baba said, “No, no, no,” and he tapped me on the chest thrice and saying, “Swami knows, mother pain, mother pain, mother pain.” I burst into tears, and they flowed abundantly like a waterfall. Sathya Sai Baba knew everything about me, including the agonising, traumatic wound from childhood. He materialised vibhuthi and told me to eat all of it.

After the interview, I was taken to the hospital. I soon became violently sick and had a high fever. Three holes appeared on my left foot, with puss slowly and constantly oozing out. This lasted for seven days.  The doctor who came to see me looked at the flowing pus and asked, “May I ask you a question?” Sick and ailing, I responded in a weak whispering voice, “Of course.” He asked, “Did you drink a lot of alcohol?” I affirmed. The doctor assured me, “Sathya Sai Baba is completely cleaning your liver!”

I am still with Sathya Sai Baba. He came now in the form of Mohanji. Mohanji has no form and contains all forms of all Gods. His real ashram is in the hearts of His children who live His teachings with pure and sincere selfless devotion.” – Dirk

I soon recovered fully, feeling like a newborn. When I later went for darshan, I was called for an interview with Sathya Sai Baba again. I thanked Him for His help and asked, “How can I honour God?” Sathya Sai Baba laughed and said, “God does not need any honouring. Selfless service to the poor, helpless and needy is the only way to serve and please God.”

I met some people and built my first orphanage in Kengeri, India. Later, I asked the Sathya Sai Baba community in the Netherlands to help His efforts to render selfless service to the poor, helpless and needy. My efforts did not meet much success. Hence, I made good on my promise to Sathya Sai Baba by starting my charity organisation and spoke on several forums, platforms and places about selfless service to the poor, helpless and needy. We built orphanages, old-age shelters, hospitals, job training centres, schools offering free education to ‘harijans’ (literally God’s people – referring to the oppressed lower castes), etc.

Initially, all the donations were used for charity work in India and later also in Nepal. In a few years, we adopted twenty-six villages in India and fourteen villages in Nepal. I attribute all this to Sathya Sai Baba’s grace and people’s belief in me. Subsequently, when I went for Sathya Sai Baba’s darshan, I was again granted an interview. Five other influential ladies, possibly from the government, were in the interview room. As was my usual practice, I kissed His Lotus Feet nine times and sat by His feet.

When one of the ladies came forward, Sathya Sai Baba said, “Don’t touch!” She protested, “But Swami, this boy is kissing Your feet so many times?” He replied very politely, “Yes, he does the same in Holland at least twice daily!” The omniscient Master knew I kissed a photo of His Holy feet nine times, at least twice daily. I have also experienced the same omniscience with Mohanji.

Sathya Sai Baba told me He was pleased with my sincere devotion and hard work for the poor and needy. He then materialised a gold ring with four huge diamonds and put it on the ring finger of my right hand. When I left the interview room, I met a diamond grader from America who exclaimed, “Wow, these four diamonds are of perfect quality. Their value is at least two hundred thousand dollars; you are fortunate!”

On hearing this, I ran to my room, slammed the door and spoke to Baba’s picture, crying profusely, “Why did you give me this ring? I don’t want gold or diamonds. You, my mother and father, are seated in my heart. I only want your love, nothing more, nothing less. I thought you were real, but you are fake! All I believed in was fake! Tomorrow, I will return this ring. If you refuse to accept it, I’ll commit suicide!” I cried the whole night.

The following morning I went for my ‘last’ darshan. When Sathya Sai Baba walked through the audience, he gazed silently at my teary eyes and gestured to let me come for an interview. In those days, the audience would be two to three hundred thousand. Some had visited Sathya Sai Baba every year for 20 years and yet not had an opportunity to touch His feet or get an interview! I have a sincere request to all Mohanji’s followers. Please realise that you have a once-in-a-eternity chance right now. You don’t realise how lucky you are. Sathya Sai Baba is now Mohanji! Shirdi Sai Baba is now Mohanji! Krishna is now Mohanji! There will be hundreds and thousands of people who can attest to Mohanji’s omnipresence and omniscience.

The same five ladies were in the interview room with Sathya Sai Baba. Immediately, I returned the ring to Swami, kissed His feet nine times, and then started to massage Sathya Sai Baba’s feet. After getting rid of the ring, I felt I could fly- so happy, relieved, and free.

Swami then threw the ring among the five ladies. As they scrambled to get their hands on it, Sathya Sai Baba silent spoke to me telepathically. “My boy, I very well know why you came here. You always come just for Me. Those ladies are more interested in miracles or presents and treat me like Santa Claus!  They have come to improve their career, name, and fame. I act like a shopkeeper and ask them, ‘What do you want?’ I give people what they want. If you ask for coffee, I give you coffee. If you ask for me, I give you myself.” Swami’s loving motherly face turned into a fierce, stern countenance as He thundered, “Return that ring!” The ladies immediately returned it to Him.

Sathya Sai Baba said, “Last night, my boy cried the whole night because I gave him gold and diamonds when all he wanted was Me. He decided that I was fake and refused to perform his usual practice of touching my feet and kissing them nine times.” He thankfully skipped mentioning my suicide threat. Thus, Sathya Sai Baba demonstrated His omnipresence. Mohanji does this often as well. However, many people miss the hints, even when they sit right before Him!

Sathya Sai Baba then touched the ring to His third eye and thrice blew gently on it. The four diamonds were transformed into nine precious stones. He slid the ring on Dirk’s right finger. It was twice as big. Sai Baba said to the ladies, “Oh! This ring is too big.” He gently tapped the ring, which immediately shrank to the perfect size. I tried to take it off, but Swami stopped me and firmly said,” This is for my boy’s protection.”

I looked at Sathya Sai Baba’s loving gift from a different perspective, “Through love for God, be the brightness that you are – complete, realised and fulfilled.” It is not eight plus one or seven plus two, but nine – fullness, total oneness, completion. With this insight, it made perfect sense. I melted and humbly and lovingly accepted the ring with gratitude. However, I was unsure why I needed protection.

The protection ring

The ring was called Navaratna (nine ratnas or gems). Nine is a holy number signifying completion. The ring had eight hearts around the ring’s periphery, with a star in the middle that touches each heart. Each heart had a gem connected to a planet, the Sun or the moon. The gem positioned in the centre star was related to the Sun since it is the centre of the solar system. One of the gems was connected to the moon to align the mind and emotions. The single-pointed concentration of the mind devoid of emotions is essential for enlightenment. This is the symbolic meaning of the moon on Shiva’s head, secured by his matted locks. The rest of the gems were connected to other major planetary bodies- Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars, etc. The gems are particularly suitable for prayer during the full moon.

The same night, I heard the loud cries of young girls in my meditation. In the morning, I met a professor from Nepal and mentioned the strange crying. The professor asked, “Have you never heard of trafficking?” I said, “No”. He explained how children as young as five were kidnapped from poor villages in Nepal, drugged, taken thousands of kilometres away from their homes, and sold for three to four hundred euros in the brothels of Delhi and Mumbai. I immediately understood my purpose, which required protection.

I travelled to Mumbai and Delhi and started two rescue centres, ‘Rescue Foundation’ in Mumbai and ‘STOP’ in Delhi, with professor Roma Debabratta and then set up rescue teams at these locations. I acted as a tourist paedophile, befriended the brothel keepers and rescued the children with the help of my team. Every rescued child who returned home to her mother made me intensely happy as I felt as if I were returning to my mother. The operation was dangerous and life-threatening. My Indian (brother) friend was indeed killed. The underworld had put a bounty of a hundred thousand US dollars to have me dead. Many a time, I felt the ring’s powerful protection. We have rescued around four thousand children and put hundreds of pimps and traffickers behind bars with sentences of fifteen to twenty years. In twenty-five years, the organisations have become self-sustaining and receive worldwide sponsorship that provides the funds required for this noble initiative.

This is Rama, the first girl I rescued from the Delhi brothels. She was only 12 years old and raped by 20 ‘customers’ daily. After the rescue, she underwent many operations and also HIV treatments. She later worked in our rescue team for ten years. Dedicated to her duty with discipline and devotion, she helped hundreds of victims. She passed away two years ago. I feel she is still with me as my Guardian Angel and always helps me be a good servant for God’s children like herself.” – Dirk

With growth came recognition, name and fame. I became famous and even appeared on television. Once, I heard Sathya Sai Baba’s voice in my meditation, “No name! No fame! Be a star, not a film star!” The next day, I quit the organisations I had run for twenty-five years.

On 5th June 2022, just when Mohanji visited the Netherlands, Sathya Sai Baba and Shirdi Sai Baba appeared in my dream early in the morning. They said, “Hey, boy, get up and give the protection ring to our son.” Being unsure, I clarified, “To Mohanji, Swami? Sathya Sai Baba gave an exasperated look to Shirdi Sai Baba and asked, “Are we talking to an idiot?” Turning to me, he said, “Yes, of course, Mohanji. Who else?” I knew it was not just a dream but a real communion. I asked Devi (Mohanji’s wife) for a private, confidential meeting alone with Mohanji and Devi.

In the meeting, I explained the command from Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba and handed the ring to Mohanji. Mohanji simply said, “Ok,” and accepted the ring. With Sathya Sai Baba’s direction, ‘No name, no fame’, I swore my daughter Parvati to secrecy about the handover of the ring. With Mohanji’s advent into our lives, I have also ‘handed’ over my daughter, Parvati, back to her real father, Mohanji!

I always beg ‘my’ daughter Parvati, ‘Please never, ever, be a part-time follower’, because when you become a full-time follower, Mohanji has to be with you full-time and give permanent darshan in the ashram of your heart.

A few days later, Parvati travelled to Montenegro for a retreat with Mohanji. When people enquired about the ring, Mohanji answered, “Oh! Dirk gave it to me. Ask Parvati.” So much for secrecy! No secrets with our divine beloved, Mohanji. He is always transparent as he lives his teachings and showcases his example with his life, just like Jesus did. I pray that we understand the real Mohanji and not wait until He announces, “My Father and I are one.” I humbly beg everyone, “Please become full-timers, not part-timers,” Jesus had only twelve disciples, Buddha five.

I long for nothing else in this world but to remember, live and practise Mohanji’s teachings. I cry daily, knowing and feeling Mohanji’s infinite unconditional love for me. I would gladly refuse a million paradises just to be with Him. I never ever want to be alone anymore. Mohanji is my world, universe and all that I have been longing for all my lives. Helping hands are better than praying lips! I offer my body, mind and soul to be a willing instrument for whatever Mohanji wants to do through me.

Jesus has returned in the form of Mohanji and is asking you to join Him. I implore all to surrender your ‘crazy-horse’ mind that keeps you bound through temporary pleasures to a fake life full of pain. You can walk with Him full time if you attune your heart to Him and practise his teachings. It is as simple as ABC – Always BConnected. Hold Mohanji’s divine hand and never let go. Swami Mohanji is a Universal Atomic Bomb of Divine Love. We all should work hard to put his teachings into practice and please Him with our selfless service. Our faithful, sincere, pure, single-pointed devotion and unconditional love activate this bomb to explode in the whole Universe, thus allowing all beings to feel His divine love. I wish to split into 7.5 billion atoms and inject each living creature with the pure divine love of my all, who has now come as Mohanji.

My humble pranaams at the Lotus Feet of Mohanji, my Guru, Guardian, Guide and Goal. May He bless me with an uninterrupted flow of divine love towards His Lotus Feet and make me the lowest and humblest of His servants. I want nothing more, nothing less.

Jai Sai Mohanji!

Dirk, “Servant of his servants, nothing more, nothing less.”

Nature is the art of God

Mohanji1

Mohanji says, “My beloved children, my whole body consists of rivers, oceans, mountains and many expressions of life. There is a spirit in everything. Do not think that the tree outside your house is separate from you. The tree inhales what you exhale. And what the tree exhales is what you inhale. Can you see this subtle collaboration and deep love? You are inseparably connected, with the trees, plants, flowers and nature. You are existentially connected to all of them.”

Pooja’s experiences are a reminder to us all of how closely we are connected to Mother Nature and how fragile nature is. Her beautiful words describe the joy of being in nature and how she felt and saw the presence of her beloved Guru Mohanji in nature.

by Pooja Sheth, Canada

With Mohanji’s grace, I took a mini-vacation this month. This was a long-awaited trip. We travelled through the west coast of Canada to Banff, Jasper and Vancouver.  I did not have many expectations from this trip; I was only looking forward to a break. I had seen several pictures of the places I was going to visit but, was not prepared for what I saw.

We arrived in Calgary late at night. We had dinner and slept early as we had a long day the next day. We were doing the drive from Calgary to Banff. Words fail to express how beautiful Banff was. I am still not over it. On the drive, there are several ‘viewpoints’ for tourists to stop the car and enjoy the view.  We stopped at a location which had an amazing view. As I sat there, tears started flowing as I could not wrap my mind around how beautiful this place was. I felt so grateful to be there and witness its beauty.

As I sat there, I had a strong desire to do meditation. I wanted to play Devi Kavacham on my phone (my way to express gratitude to Mother Nature) – however, when I was looking at my playlist, instead of Devi Kavacham I clicked on Shivoham. I took this as a sign from Mohanji and sat there meditating on Shivoham. My fellow travellers (my brother and friend) were embarrassed by my listening to anything religious and asked me to stop playing. I told them to pretend that they don’t know me and let me be.

As I was listening to Shivoham, tears kept rolling down as I could not believe the beauty of Prakruti (Mother Nature). I kept saying, “You are me, and I am you”. I felt so deeply connected to nature.   In the evening when we returned to our Airbnb, I sat on my bed to chant the Mohanji Gayatri mantra 108 times. As I was chanting the mantra with my eyes closed, I saw myself in a transparent body and noticed that the entire nature I visited during the day was within me. I clearly saw a river flowing within me. I have read others’ experiences on this, but have never experienced it myself, and I thought this should be shared with all of you. It was truly amazing and I know that I will never be the same again. I feel such a shift within me that I cannot explain it in words.

The following two days were spent travelling to Jasper and I noticed again that I was deeply connecting with nature. Any place I went to – whether the mountains, rivers or any viewpoints – I kept saying, “You are me, and I am you”. I just felt one with my surroundings.

During this trip, I read the experience of a devotee who saw Mohanji in the clouds. I said to Mohanji, “I know you are with me, but why can’t I find you in the clouds?” The next moment I felt silly for asking him for this experience. I said, “Why should I ask him for these temporary experiences?” Mohanji knows what experience I need and will give me accordingly.  I noticed that the thought of seeing Mohanji in the clouds kept coming up now and then. I tried to ignore it – arguing with myself, why ask for this?

Mohanji sky

But Mohanji is so kind and compassionate, he fulfilled my loving wish. I was at one of the most beautiful locations I have ever visited – Moose Lake, Jasper. Similar to the other experience, tears naturally started flowing as I could not believe what I was witnessing. I told Mother Nature, “How did I get so lucky to witness this?” I was filled with gratitude. Then my attention went to a particular patch of clouds and I noticed it changing shape. Usually my eyes would not fix on one point but in this case, I just could not move my eyes (almost frozen) from that patch of clouds. Lo and behold, I noticed the clouds taking the shape of Mohanji’s face! I thought it was my imagination, so I blinked a couple of times, but the shape stayed. The next moment I thought of taking a picture to share with my M family and I asked Mohanji to stay so I could take a picture, but I noticed the clouds moving again. He came just for me as I had secretly desired to see him in the clouds. There were tears of gratitude as I experienced this.

Our next stop was Vancouver, and we visited the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  I am extremely afraid of heights. When I say extremely….I mean extremely! It is a phobia. It was so difficult for me to walk the bridge considering that it is not fixed and moves with the movement of people on it. Plus, the bridge can hold a large number of people on it. That made it super scary for me – to see so many people on a ‘moving’ bridge. What I did not know before crossing the bridge was that if you want to exit the park, you have to walk back on the bridge.

Quote 1

The place also had treetop adventures and cliff walking (exactly as it sounds) on a transparent structure below and on both sides. I always like to face my fears – so I signed up for all the activities. Crossing the suspension bridge was extremely difficult. I did not look at either side and concentrated on just getting to the other side. Then I started the treetop adventure – it was 110 feet above the forest floor. As I was carefully crossing it, I said to Mohanji, “This fear needs to go… I need to let it go…” and I noticed suddenly that I could cross the bridge without much fear. In fact, I got on the middle of one of the bridges and started jumping on it. After that, I successfully did the cliff walk and walked back on the Capilano Suspension Bridge to the exit point of the park.  I don’t think the fear has completely gone but this was a great improvement from where I started. I also could cross the bridge while looking on both the sides and looking down without fear gripping me.

cliff

As I have returned from my trip, I can surely say that I have returned as a different person. There is also a stronger sense of wanting to protect the environment. During our trip, we visited the Vancouver Aquarium and they had exhibits of how humans are destroying the ocean. We even sat down for a documentary and I could not hold my tears when I saw what we are doing to nature. It scares me to think that all the beautiful locations I visited on this trip may not exist for the future generations to witness unless we start protecting our resources.

“Your choice is to be love or to be fear. Fear is darkness. Fear is ignorance. Be love. It is worth it.” – Mohanji

Gratitude is such a small word for what I feel, and I can never thank Mohanji enough for this trip and what it did to me. At your lotus feet always Mohanji.

Guru Purnima Celebration Worldwide 2019

Mohanji’s Guru Purnima Message

“Dear Embodiments of love,

I wish you a very happy and fulfilling Guru Purnima. We have spoken about various aspects of existence over the year, so I don’t want to repeat quite a lot of the same stuff, but I would like to remind you about one important aspect as you walk the path of spirituality.

God as we perceive is pure consciousness – formless, pure energy, pure brightness. Your soul is pure brightness. It is the source of all elements, elements which have created the body i.e. earth, water, fire, air, space. All these elements have their source in the Soul or God which is the same. Soul is pure brightness, God is pure brightness, Guru who has attained, confirmed, merged or integrated into God is pure brightness. So Guru – Soul – God are more or less the same.

What do you see on Guru outside of you?

A reminder. A direction. A road map. That’s it. However, the more you connect with yourself, the brightness within you, the brightness which is your original state, that’s exactly when you actually connect to a Guru. And when you see that brightness in every being outside of you, then you see Guru in every being. So Guru is in every being. Guru is in everything.

Look at the source of all things. Even if it is anger, hatred, jealousy kind of thing or even if it is a feeling, a wind blowing, breeze, sounds… Look at the source of all things around you, you will understand that there is energy behind it. Without that energy, there is no movement, there is no aspect, there is no life.

This life is Guru. Energy behind all life is Guru. That’s the principle I would like you to remember today on Guru Purnima.”

PRETORIA

Pretoria East centre – Reported by Reshmika Chaithram

Jai Mohanji, Pretoria East centre celebrated GuruPoornima today in honour of Our Beloved Brahmarishi Mohanji. We began with Guru Puja while offering white rice onto Baba’s paduka’s. After the Guru Puja, we chanted Mohanji’s Gayatri mantra.

In 2016, my Mosie passed away. She would have celebrated another birthday on July 16th. The days leading to the 13th day after her passing was spent listening to the normal Gayatri mantra which played continuously. After we did Mohanji’s Aarti, we were astounded as the Gayatri mantra started to play, and it wasn’t even next on the playlist.

Thank you Mohanji for always taking care. The energy from the puja and the chanting was amazing and left us feeling embodied in Mohanji’s love and light. Love you Mohanji, you hear us even when we say nothing.

RANDBURG

Mohanji Centre Randburg – Reported by Ami Hughes

Mohanji Centre – Randburg (MC-R) also observed Guru Poornima.

Due to this auspicious occasion falling on a work day for most of us, our programme was set for 6 pm.

What a magnificent blessing it was to participate in the sacred event, saturated in our Beloved Mohanji’s Grace and Love.

Six people attended, including hosts Mr and Mrs Oliver and Julie Reddy, Surika, Priscilla and Megan.

As we settled in and became quieter, we could feel the unmistakable Presence of Love hugging us, so silk smooth soft.

Everyone there was beautifully present.

We opened with invocation, and flowed into the 108 chants of Mohanji Gayathri.

It was a Heart and Soul slow rhythmic chant which steadily built up a vortex of swirling sacred Energy. It blanketed the whole shrine. The whole atmosphere began to pulse with the heightening frequencies of the chanting. We were in the Powerful Arms of our Guru and the mighty Datta Tradition He represents.

Our Pada Puja followed – led by Mohanji Acharya Ami.

All of us made offerings of rice grains – soaked in Gratitude, and our Thanks and Love – to the Holy Lotus Feet of our Beloved Guru – Mohanji.

Ami also chanted the Mohanji Saranam Ashtakam and read the English meaning to add impetus, and ended our Pada Puja with the chanting of the Mohanji Kavacham.

Now we were ready for the Freedom Meditation.

What a sweet experience it was – a taste of Celestial Nectar – in the heart-melting voice of our Mohanji.

It was a deeply moving experience, touching each one to the core.

We were literally flying as we did Aarthi in conclusion of our Guru Poornima celebration.

All Praise and Thanks to You Mohanji – our Beloved SadhGuru.

We know Your physical form, but can only guess at Your operating levels beyond form – and still we would fall far, far short in our imaginings of just Who and What You are.

Happy Guru Poornima Mohanji – from MC-R

LADYSMITH

Reported by Salona and Sholane Surjoo

In celebration of Guru Purnima and gratitude to Guru Brahmarishi Mohanji, Megatude Education Centre in Ladysmith hosted a kids art session and Freedom meditation. 16 little ones joined in for a combination of art and meditation for kids has been in my heart and thoughts for a little while now so what a better day to start than on Guru Purnima. The kids were first asked to draw a picture from their imagination followed by Freedom meditation and then again afterwards drew another picture. There were distinct differences in the art work before and after meditation. The use of more colour, bigger brighter drawings and more creative pictures were made after the meditation. The kids had more confidence and peer interaction afterwards. Most of these kids experienced meditation for the first time, yet they were able to sit the entire ten minutes of the Freedom meditation.

MALAYSIA

On Sunday 14 July 2019, a group of us from Mohanji family, Satya Sai Baba , Shirdi Baba and Agasthiar followers gathered in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate Guru Purnima, a day to pay homage to our gurus who have given us so much and continue to give and love us unconditionally, guiding and protecting us in our soul journey.

The day started with Aarti performed by the owner of the house. Each took turns to perform abishegam on the padukas of Mohanji and Shirdi Babas murthy. It was a beautiful sight to behold as each person lovingly poured milk (vegan) and offered flowers.

The chanting of AUM charged up the whole space . The chanting of Rudram by our young Satya Sai Baba devotee really touched me to the core. Bhajans were rendered individually by the youngest of 10 years old to the oldest amongst us of 74 years old. Such angelic and lovely voicest filling the air with so much devotion and love.During Aarti, I felt tears flowing remembering how Mohanji had remained in my life holding my hands through thick and thin and with so much unconditional love despite the little I give in return.

Malaysia - Guru Purnima 2019 - Mohanji

Mohanji’s presence was felt very strongly and two persons had also felt the presence of Satya Sai Baba as the abishegam on Shirdi Baba’s murthy was performed with the gayari mantra chanted by Satya Sai Baba in the background.

The owner of the house was so happy this day as he had long harboured the desire of us holding a celebration at his new house. It so happened that our centre was being used for some work project and we had to find another location for the celebration. Mohanji hears us all the time and grants us our deepest desires.

SERBIA

NOVI SAD

In Novi Sad, on the day of light when we express gratitude and respect to spiritual teachers, Guru principle in us and to the Tradition, Guru Purnima was celebrated in Datta Tapovan centre.

We listened to Mohanji’s Guru Purnima message and afterwards we dived into “Power of Purity” meditation. We changed Mohanji Gayatri mantru 108 times and during the sacred song of gratitude (aratija) we opened our heart and expressed our deep gratitude towards Mohanji as well as all masters of Datta tradition, for their guidance on the path towards liberation, for their sontinuous presence, protection and immeasurable love they give us.

While reading the key messages from “SHri Sai Satcharithra” about Shirdi Sai Baba, through tears we were reminded what a blessing it is to meet Guru in this life, as well as to be in Mohanji’s physical presence, Master in his physical body.

Serbia - Novi Sad - Guru PUrnima 2019 - Mohanji - Datta Tapovan

In Belgrade about 20 of us gathered. The evening was opened by Nikolina Dragojevic, Mohanji Acharya, who has spent this year in India.

As grateful for the blessing that Mohanji is our Guru, as for all other masters, we started “Bliss of Silence meditation”. After the meditation, we received Mohanji energy transfer and went on to chant Mohanji Gayatri mantra 108 times. During the chanting, we breathed as One.

Throughout the evening, Mohanji’s presence could be felt. It was the most tangible during the energy transfer when tears of bliss, deep gratitude and laughter occurred.

We left after Aarati, bathed in love and energised.

UNITED KINGDOM

16th July 2019. Guru Poornima. A much awaited auspicious day for all disciples to express their gratitude to their Guru.
This was a day filled with devotion and love for Mohanji and spent in utmost joy in the consciousness of Mohanji by Mohanji UK family. Many devotees participated all day, half day or even for sometime during the day at the venue in Pinner where the special event was being celebrated.
The day begun with M UK family gathering up from 5:30 am onwards, setting up the altar and commencing the auspicious ritual with Aarati at 6 am.
Then everyone presented, offered their gratitude to Mohanji through Paaduka puja amidst the chant of Guru Paaduka Shloka sung by devotees, followed by Mohanji Ashtottari (108) name chanting.
All present devotees were Kriya initiates! Doing Kriya together after such powerful chanting and Paaduka puja was a powerhouse experience! With UK Summer morning Sunshine brightening up the room, it felt like “Sata Sahasra Surya” (100 thousand Sun) Mohanji’s power gracing all.

After scrumptious homemade vegan South Indian breakfast, the programme continued with Bhajan singing.
One after another after another, all devotees were completely merged into the ocean of devotion through the bhajan singing, which soon turned into the act of merging into Guru’s raasa leela, everyone getting up on their feet, deep into Conscious Dancing. Needless to say that everyone felt Mohanji sitting in the chair laughing with them, cheering them and being with everyone in every moment. Mohanji’s fragrance had completely mesmerised everyone.
Immediately after the noon Arati, everyone’s joy knew know limit to watch the Live telecast of Mohanji’s satsang straight from Bangalore. During this time more people kept joining us.

United Kingdom - Guru Purnima 2019 - Mohanji
After vegan lunch, the satsang amongst the devotees continued. Experience sharing was so powerful that all had tears, laughters, all shades of emotions showing their gratitude and love for Mohanji who has brought so much joy in everyone’s life.
It was heartening to see a particular family turning up with their specially-abled child currently going through even challenging serious condition. Mohanji’s grace on this family have been so immense. They have physically never met, but through Consciousness and through Mai Tri the family has come in the shield of protection of Mohanji. When the family walked in and the child was put on the sofa, which was right in front of Mohanji’s chair, no one sitting in between. The powerful grace and healing power from Mohanji was flowing to the child, a silent but powerful communion happening between them.
As we progressed towards afternoon, going for the evening Aarati, more people kept coming in to be part of this celebration. More singing, more dancing, just joy all around!
Mohanji’s presence without His physical presence was so strong, everyone felt as if Mohanji is physically sitting with us. More than 13 hours passed like 13 seconds! It was a day of heightened spirit in the consciousness of Mohanji.
Everyone’s face, their body language showed the eternal joy in unconditional love for Mohanji.
It’s actually beyond comprehension to express how Mohanji showered His love to all His devotees in the whole time!
The pictures may be able to express a tiny bit.

USA

VIRGINIA

The Guru Poornima celebration at the Mohanji USA center in Virginia started early morning with Guru Pooja – offering of flowers at padukas to the chanting of Mohanji Ashtotri (108 names), followed by aarati at 6.00 am. We then offered pooja to Shirdi Sai Moorti and padukas with chanting of Sai Potrigal, a beautiful set of 108 names of Sai Baba in Tamil. The morning worship ended just in time for our group to join the Satsang with Mohanji which was relayed live from Bangalore.

It was indeed a wonderful blessing that Mohanji appeared along with Devi Amma to bless all of us far and wide around the globe. The Divya Jyoti or effulgence from the Guru has no boundaries of time and space and permeates all over emanating bliss and joy and grace!

At our altar in Virginia, a pale orb of hazy light appeared on one of Mohanji’s photos. With a variety of images showing up on the photo, we could only think that it was a symbol of Shiva-Shakti manifestation, with the right side near the forehead reflecting vibhuti (holy ash) and the left side reflecting yellowish hue representing turmeric used in the worship of the supreme mother Goddess. The picture is shared below (The first one was taken in the morning after aarti when the images appeared, and the second one taken later in the evening which appears clear of any hue. We had not wiped the surface of the frame!)

After the Satsang, all those who had gathered in the celebration earlier, joined together to cook meals to take to a nearby homeless shelter. We prepared vegetable rice and mixed lentil soup and carried with us some water bottles and fruits. As I walked out of the house carrying the tray of rice pulao, it slipped and just fell from my hands. It was a moment where I was stunned at what just happened, however; it was indeed a blessing because the tray hit the floor in such a way that some grains fell out just enough for the birds to feed upon, and rest of the tray was intact. It was truly an amazing moment.

As it was getting late for us, I just left the dropped food on the pavement and drove to the shelter, thinking I can move it to the grass area when I get back because the pavement in the area is always clean.

The Lamb Center in Fairfax, Virginia, is a daytime drop-in for the poor and the homeless in the area. We had expected to just drop off the food which is normally served by the organization’s volunteers. However, when we arrived, the staff from the center welcomed us and showed us around the center about the various activities that they offer to the needy in the local community. This opened an opportunity for us to talk about Mohanji Foundation and all our activities that can benefit the community as well. Mohanji was present throughout the program because we ended up with a detailed discussion and the lovely lady who spent quite a bit of time with us, promised to organize a meeting with other members of their board to find ways for us to collaborate with them. Another sign of Mohanji’s presence without presence.

US - Guru Purnima 2019 - Virginia - Mohanji

After we left the shelter, my mind went back to the pavement and the rice that had fallen earlier. I was thinking, I must clean up the pavement and remove the vegetable rice fallen on the pavement to the front yard grassy area. Upon reaching back home, lo and behold, there was not a grain of rice or vegetable on the ground. The birds and squirrels had wiped them clean. With deep gratitude to the acceptance of the annadhan (food offering), we all came home and sat together and had a quick lunch to allow at least 2 hours before the start of the eclipse, even though it was not visible here.

After lunch, we once again sat together and listened to Mohanji’s Guru Poornima message and soaked in the energy of Devi Amma’s beautiful chants which segued smoothly into our chanting session at the start of the eclipse. We started with the Mahamrityunjaya mantra for an hour followed by Sai Nama and Mohanji Gayatri. The impalpable energy that emanated from this group chanting was extraordinary.

As the program progressed, more people joined. We also connected the event on zoom for people out of state to tune in. The chanting was followed by bhajans. In addition to our usual Sanskrit bhajans, Lauren rendered a soul-stirring native American prayer which touched all our hearts.

We concluded the day with group Consciousness Kriya and followed it with the Power of Purity Meditation. Mohanji’s energy transfer during POP meditation was extremely intense. Everyone who received it was overwhelmed with the intensity of the grace.

My mother who is visiting from Chennai prepared all the prasadam – offering to the Guru – during the day for each of the offerings before aarathi at 6 am, 12 pm and 6 pm.

Dhyaana moolam guror murtih; Pooja moolam guror padam;

Mantra moolam guror vakyam; Moksha moolam guror kripa.

(The basis of meditation is the form of the Guru, real worship is of the feet of the Guru, the basis of mantra is the word of the Guru and the bestowal of liberation is only through the Grace of the Guru) – Guru Stotram, Skanda Puran.

Interestingly, there were 3 Cockatoo birds sitting throughout the fire ceremony as if a confirmation of divine’s presence as she offered materials to the holy fire.

MELBOURNE

Our M-Family in Melbourne performed abhishekam (holy bath) to Shirdi Sai Baba and Mohanji’s Padhuka by reciting various Mantras. Abhishekam (holy bath) was performed with Milk, Yoghurt, Fruit Juice, Honey, Sandalhood, Viboothi (holy ash) and finally water collected from various rivers across India. This was followed by recital of Mohanji’s Ashtothari and summed it up with Mohanji Aarti.

3. Maheshwari Mohanji

A few years ago, before meeting my beloved Guru Mohanji, I did not understand the true meaning of Guru Purnima. And although one can never fully understand Guru or the auspiciousness of such a day, i am truly grateful to Mohanji for walking into our lives and switching on the light.

Before meeting Mohanji, spiritual Masters were only known to me in scriptures. I could not imagine what it would be like to meet a living master, one who walks with you, loves you unconditionally, has no ego, pride, jealousy or any negative quality. One who lives for the world, selflessly, and asks nothing from anyone.
To me, the only One who has these qualities is my beloved Shiva. But to see Him, walk with Him in a human form was something out of this world.

Before meeting Mohanji, i have never met any human being who was so selfless, God-like, divine and especially anyone who really didn’t expect or ask anything from me.

So, the auspiciousness of Guru Purnima was not something I celebrated. I could not understand how any human being could make such a positive, selfless impact on another and that too, without asking anything in return,  no money, “guru fees”, nothing. As I mentioned before, only Lord Shiva had these qualities. He is my ultimate Master, my God and my Guru. So on days like this when people revered their Gurus, i would just give thanks to Shiva.

I can not describe nor explain the gratitude in my heart to even know such a being as Mohanji. And on this day and always, i give utter most thanks and gratitude to Guru for His presence in my life, for so much positive change, for emptying me of so much of negative stored emotions, for so much that i am not even aware of. And that too, He showed me that Yes, a real Guru can walk into your life, as a normal human being and help you(not only in scriptures).

Nine ways to connect with the Guru

who-is-mohanji

By Shyama Jeyaseelan

Mohanji says, “The human mind needs forms to associate with. This is fundamental. It recognizes forms and connects to forms. Human constitution uses all faculties such as body, mind, and intellect to connect to the chosen form. And when the connection through faith increases, individual personality takes a back seat. The individual starts to merge with the object of worship. Non-duality happens. When oneness takes root, often the need for any of the individual faculties that the individual used for the primary connection also becomes redundant. Everything dissolves into oneness.”

In May 2018, towards the end of the Kriya Intensive programme and Volunteers Meet in Bosnia, some of us were sharing our experiences with Mohanji in the main satsang hall. Seated in a circle, heartfelt feelings and emotions were shared, all of us totally absorbed in Mohanji’s love and compassion. When it was my turn, I sang a bhajan that was close to my heart, one that I sing often at home to Mohanji. The words are simple yet so beautiful.

You are the centre of my life my Lord, You are the centre of my day

I open my heart to You and pray for Your grace

I feel the power of Your love my Lord, I feel the power of Your love

I open my heart to You and pray for Your grace.

The Guru’s feet

As I finished, Deviji who was also seated with us said with a lovely smile, “I am looking forward to meeting all the bhakti yogis in London soon.” A visit by Mohanji, Deviji, and little Mila was already planned to take place in August 2018 and we were all counting the days for their arrival with much excitement, looking forward to having them with us.

During their stay in London, many of us had the privilege of spending some time with Mohanji, Deviji, and Mila. So many beautiful moments, full of grace and joy, filled our days. Those few days flew by quickly and it was time to say good bye too soon. Afterwards, as I read the blogs and testimonials from others, I realised how each of us experienced Mohanji’s presence and love in our own unique way. We may have all been with Him at the same time during the same programme or event, but each one of us experienced Him according to our own constitution, perception, and eligibility.

During this visit, every moment I spent with Mohanji gave me a different emotion to the feeling of devotion. I recently read a beautiful article on ‘Nava vidha bhakti,’ the 9 forms of devotion, and realised that I had experienced these beautiful emotions and recognised them as such, purely because of Mohanji’s grace.

It is said that of the different types of yoga, bhakti yoga is the easiest way to reach the Lord in the Kaliyuga. When devotion and love for the Lord are pure, free from conditions, desires, and ego, transformation happens within. We become the instrument of the Lord. Through writing this article, I pray that my love for Mohanji becomes deeper and purer. May devotion fill my days and bring positive transformations within me.

The 9 forms of devotion which we feel and experience towards our Guru or God are shravanam, kirtanam, smaranam, paada sevanam, archanam, vandanam, daasyam, saakhyam, and aatma nivedanam.

1. Shravanam (Listening to the names and glories of God)

The first in the nine forms of devotion, shravanam is to listen to the divine glories of our Guru or God. As we listen and contemplate on His words, qualities, and divine plays, our mind merges with the thoughts of divinity. With easy access to social media, listening to satsangs, bhajans, and songs, seeing messages on whatsapp or Facebook were all tools for me to listen or read about Mohanji throughout the day. Listening to His teachings, seeing His messages and reading others’ experiences were all ways for me to connect to Him while being away from His physical presence. Planning His visit with the UK team was exciting and that itself was a satsang too. As I constantly listened and contemplated on Mohanji, love and reverence subconsciously grew and I also realised that these thoughts were purifying me in tangible and subtle ways.

As we cultivate a yearning to listen to His glory and teachings with faith, and as we practise what we have learnt, the act of shravanam helps us evolve in the journey of spirituality.

2. Kirtanam (Chanting the glories of God)

In the second form of devotion, kirtanam, one sings the glory of Guru or God with devotion. Whenever we recite or chant His name and sing His glory from the heart, we automatically become joyous; our hearts are filled with love, not just for our dearest Guru, but towards all those who are around us. Continuous chanting has the power to elevate us.

At the UK retreat, we had bhajans at the end of each day. Even if He was tired, Mohanji would stay and listen to everyone’s offering of love to Him, have a satsang with us afterwards, before retiring to His room. One of the highlights was to actually listen to Mohanji sing ‘Garuda Gamana’ with one of the devotees. We were all mesmerised, listening to His beautiful voice, giving such joy not only to the devotee He sang with but to all those who were assembled there.

Shyama
Shyama singing a bhajan

One evening, we chanted the Sri Rudram in Mohanji’s presence. This chanting is done in praise of Lord Shiva and I was reminded of chanting it at the holy banks of Manasarovar and also during the parikrama of Kailash. Lord Shiva who was silent and majestic in Kailash had taken the form of the compassionate and loving Mohanji who was physically in the room with us.  Although thousands of miles apart, the innocence, divinity, and purity that I felt was the same in both occasions, and I felt so blessed to have Mohanji there with us while chanting. None of us wanted these evenings to end!

 3. Smaranam (Remembering God)

Smaranam is the third form of devotion where one constantly remembers their Guru or God and His divine qualities. It is said that namasmarana, the constant chanting, and remembrance of the divine will help us attain liberation. Remembering and chanting the name of our loving Guru, remembering His compassionate form, seeing divinity in nature are all ways of remembering Mohanji’s presence in my life.

Shyama satsang
Satsang with Mohanji

Whether it’s chanting the Mohanji Gayatri, Healing Gayatri or singing devotional songs/bhajans, I feel that simply knowing/remembering that He’s always with me, keeps me connected to Him, making life the joyous journey it is. As faith and devotion increase, surrendering my actions to Him becomes second nature and from small miracles to large, I feel Mohanji’s presence throughout the day. As acceptance and patience increases, pain and suffering are greatly reduced and I am able to face life with equanimity more and more.

4. Paada sevanam (Serving the Lord’s feet)

In the fourth form of devotion, paada sevanam, one worships their Guru or God by surrendering all actions at His feet and serving Him. Recognising that a true Guru is connected to the supreme consciousness, worshiping the paaduka (sanctified sandals) is also a form of paada sevanam.

In the Indian tradition, people often refer to the Guru or God’s feet as paada pankajam (lotus feet), as they are described as soft and beautiful like the petals of a lotus. During this visit, we had the incredible opportunity of doing Paada puja to Mohanji’s feet. It was such a sacred event and all those who took part felt so blessed. Mohanji explained the significance of this sacred ritual and graciously allowed us to wash, decorate and do aarati to His feet. It was a dream come true, something many of us had yearned for but had not expected to happen.

Navavidha_Paada Sharanam
Guru Paada Puja

Bowing down at the feet of someone shows humility and lack of ego. As we bow down at the feet of our dearest Guru with an innate sense of surrender, we recognise His divinity and pray that He will grant us protection and lead us from the many bindings of life to freedom in existence.

5. Archanam (Worshipping God)

In the fifth form of devotion, archanam, one makes an ‘offering’ of love to their Guru or God. It may be ritualistic worship where food, flowers, and many other materialistic items are offered. It can also be singing bhajans, chanting the sahasranamam (1000 names), ashtothram (108 names) or doing aarati, which are all forms of archanam. When the rituals are combined with internal meditation and awareness, our hearts and minds are purified.

While Mohanji was in London, I had the opportunity to make some of His meals along with a few other devotees. Cooking is usually not my passion, but making food for Mohanji is a blessing I will always cherish. I can only imagine this would be how Yashoda felt when she made food for Krishna! Mohanji’s enjoyment of simple food is lovely to witness. The times I spent in the kitchen gave me such a close connection to Mohanji. Nothing else existed apart from Him. In those moments I was not a parent, wife, sister or daughter. There was no personality, just an amazing feeling of not existing as a person with ego, etc., but being an empty instrument for divinity to work through. This state of perpetual meditation which seemed beyond my reach seems a little closer to attain now, a state I should attempt to be in, throughout the day.

My archanam or offering while Mohanji was here in the physical form for a few fleeting days has enabled me to surrender and offer all my actions to Him even when He’s physically not present. Expressing our love for Him and connecting to Him with mind and heart, all our actions become sacred when offered at the feet of the Guru.

6. Vandanam (Offering obeisance to God)

The sixth form of devotion is reverential prayer, vandanam, to our Guru or God. Prayer is a language of the heart and when expressed with sincerity and love, it becomes an intensely personal process which elevates us.  There are many types of prayers; of gratitude, for the well-being of others, for peace, etc.

Prayers and chanting have become a part of life and I realise Mohanji purifies us in subtle ways when we undertake these actions with the correct intent. Whether it’s chanting, singing or simply talking to Mohanji in my mind and seeing answers to my questions or thoughts through someone or something, my faith in prayers has increased manifold. Whether it’s an internal dialogue or an outward expression, prayers make me feel more close to Mohanji. I share an incident here which showed me again He knows everything that we think, say or do, that we always live in the presence of divinity.

On the last night before Mohanji’s family left, I was feeling so sad. I sent a text message to the host family saying, “Tomorrow morning will be the last meal with Mohanji for a while.” I had not asked to help make breakfast as I knew someone else was bringing food in the morning but went to help with other things. Just a short time before leaving for the airport, Mohanji said, “Let’s have some uppma.” I thought He was joking as He knew someone was bringing breakfast and said, “Mohanji, are you serious?” He replied with a smile “I never joke about food.” As we rushed about in the kitchen with last minute preparations, I realised that Mohanji knew my thoughts and feelings and in His usual compassionate way, asked me to make something to make me happy. Always so caring and loving, He spreads joy in every possible way. That morning we had two different items for breakfast, blessed by Mohanji!

 7. Daasyam (Serving God as His servant)

In the seventh form of devotion, daasyam, one aspires to be of personal service to their Guru or God. With no sense of inferiority, one yearns to serve the Guru as well as His devotees. Only those who are trustworthy, truly humble and are not self-centred are given this boon and it’s amazing to see Mohanji’s interaction with such beautiful people. He’s so relaxed and happy in the midst of those who love Him unconditionally and serve Him selflessly.

Serving Guru in any way is a blessing of lifetimes
Serving Guru in any way is a blessing of lifetimes

Hanuman’s devotion to Lord Rama is a great example of daasyam. I have heard Mohanji speak of Hanuman with so much love and share here a story He narrated a couple of years ago. When Valmiki completed the epic Ramayana, Sage Narada who read it said that Hanuman’s Ramayana was better. Valmiki was not happy that a ‘monkey’ had also written a Ramayana and wanted to find out if it was indeed better.

Valmiki found Hanuman in Kadali-vana (plantain grove) and the Ramayana inscribed on the broad plantain leaves. Reading it, he found it to be exquisite and unable to help himself, started to cry. When Hanuman asked if it was that bad, Valmiki replied he was crying because it was so beautiful and no one would read his Ramayana once they read Hanuman’s Ramayana.

Hearing this Hanuman simply tore up the banana leaves and said, no one will read Hanuman’s Ramayana. You wrote it so that the world remembers you, but I wrote it so that I remember Ram.” Hearing this story of Hanuman’s pure love for Lord Rama in Mohanji’s mesmerising voice was simply amazing and it brought tears to my eyes.

Even now, when I think back to this moment, I feel so humbled to be a part of Mohanji’s family, receiving His love and grace, and pray that such intense devotion and purity wells within me too.

8. Saakhyam (Developing friendship with God)

In the eighth form of devotion, saakhyam, the devotee considers the Guru or God as their friend. An example of this is Lord Krishna’s childhood in Vrindavan. He spent the days playing with his friends and taking care of the cows. His friends would chase him while playing, massage his legs while resting and feed him food with love. Their love for Krishna was complete. Mohanji is also our true friend, who accepts us as we are, with no judgements or expectations, interacting with us with pure love.

In the loving embrace of Mohanji
Loving embrace of Mohanji

It is always a joy to see Mohanji relaxing at times, away from His back to back programmes. One evening after Mohanji had retired to His room, a couple of us were talking about a song that Mohanji really likes and we were listening to it on you tube.  The next morning while having breakfast, He started talking about the song as if He’d been there during our conversation! Then He asked us to play that song and started to sing along with Sonu Nigam (a famous Indian singer), His deep voice perfectly complementing the singer’s higher pitch. Very sweetly, Mohanji would explain the meaning of the song to me between singing the verses, as I was the only person there who didn’t understand the language. It was a privilege to see Mohanji’s carefree attitude and joyous singing. How blessed we are to have the eternal friendship of our Guru.

9. Aatma nivedanam (Total surrender of oneself to the Lord)

In the ninth form of devotion, aatma nivedanam, the devotee surrenders completely to the will of the Guru or God with no trace of ego. The devotee if completely filled with devotion, gains the knowledge of his true self and becomes one with the divine and all aspects of His creation. When we offer everything to our Guru with equanimity, we become His instruments, and the Guru takes complete care. He knows what is right for us, all we need is trust and full faith.

Mohanji Energy Transfer
Being Mohanji’s instrument – In the consciousness of Mohanji

Mohanji is a living example of simplicity and humility. He teaches us by being a true inspiration. Mohanji encourages us to serve with love and humility, not just those who visit Him or are in His fold, but all beings of the earth, to the best of our capacity. By cultivating love and serving the needy, we realise the existence of divinity in all forms.

Taking up one or a number of these paths to connect with our beloved Guru, understanding the path and following it with faith and consistency, we can make our lives purposeful and meaningful.  We become the pure instruments of the Guru, spreading unity, purity, and divinity to the world.

“Worshipping the Guru, considering him as representing the Lord Almighty or personification of the Lord is definitely the path of those who are inclined to Bhakti or devotional path of spirituality.”   Mohanji

Being Mohanji for Me Is…

“Being Mohanji” series has been popular. There is a lot of interest in devotees to share their expressions and there are also numerous people who get inspired by reading others’ expressions. One is simply reminded that Mohanji is beyond His form, much beyond His body. He is omnipresent and operates from the level of omnipresence, from the level of utmost subtlety, which is cosmic energy. Each person experiences this in a unique way, yet, none can even comprehend, let alone  describe the totality of what Mohanji is. Even if 7.6 billion people described Him, we would not be able to cover all aspects of Him. We can only BE Him. Mohanji says,

Who is Mohanji? For you, I am what you make out of me. I am all situations, all beings, all emotions and all things. What you think I am is what I am for you.”

Who is Mohanji - quote
It is indeed a strong inspiration to be able to read the honest and true expressions from people on Mohanji’s effect on their lives, the transformations that have happened.

” Being Mohanji”, not just a mere quote with a photo to show off, these are precious pearls of truth and conviction strung in one thread of faith, devotion and surrender to divinity!

Here are some expressions.

With love,

Mohanji Team

Being Mohanji expressions - divider for the blog

Shyama , The UK:

Being Mohanji for me is to practise His teachings with faith and conviction. To lead a life of sacrifice, awareness, compassion, love, gratitude and humility. Mohanji encourages us to give to Mother Earth and to serve all beings, to have a higher purpose.

I have become more aware and compassionate towards Mother Earth and other beings since meeting Mohanji. Becoming vegan was a big change in my thought process and way of living. Recycling and reducing plastic and water usage at home and work place has become very important to me as I realise how much harm and pollution is being caused to the environment by our insensitive actions.

Whenever my thoughts, words and actions are aligned for a higher purpose, Mohanji has always given me the opportunity to serve. Becoming a Mai Tri healer is one such example. It’s wonderful to be able to serve others with love and gratitude.

Being Mohanji has given me the courage to discover different aspects of myself, to accept myself for who I am and to evolve in awareness.”

Madhusudan, India:

“I first met Mohanji in mid-2014. Almost 4 years later, I have understood that He truly means it when He says “I am with you”. How else can I explain the various shifts I have observed in myself? I am less judgemental and more accepting of people and their idiosyncracies. Tough situations don’t faze me as much – Mohanji once told me “don’t look at anything as a problem. Take them as situations that you need to pass through”. So whatever happens, fears and insecurities have been replaced by the faith that I’m protected, as long as I have the patience to allow situations to unfold. Alongside, I can see that my sense of surrender has increased as well. Be it situations in personal or professional life, I call on Him and pronto, clarity emerges and some solutions crop up.

Seeing how Mohanji leads His life is an inspiration in itself – not a second wasted, every thought, word and action driven by purpose, and always thinking of others first and how to help them. Being in this state is an aspiration for me and the few moments I have just touched this feeling makes it truly worth chasing.

I have also come to understand that being spiritual does not mean being an ascetic or a recluse. Finding peace and purpose while fulfilling all the wordly duties – to family, society, profession and country- is essential to progress on the path of liberation.

Thanks to Mohanji, I have had the fortune of meeting various Gurus and Masters and obtaining their blessings, and in some cases the privilege of serving them personally. Further, I have gained a whole new family of people around the world, all united by a common factor – Mohanji! I could never have imagined knowing people from Serbia, Macedonia or South Africa and feeling like I have known them for a long time!

I can clearly see that my degree of awareness has gone up. The occasional doubt, the occasional violent thought, the spontaneous judgement, the occasional inflated ego – I get all of this every now and then; only difference now is that I am also able to observe it, if not immediately, then at least later with introspection. So the intensity is lower and it also helps to work towards avoiding these traps later.

I can go on and on and list several anecdotes that have led me to these observations. But suffice to say that being with Mohanji, I have come to understand that my goal is not to be WITH Mohanji, but to actually BE Mohanji! I pray that my Guru showers his grace to make this happen.”

Mita, The UK

Being Mohanji for me isflowing through life accepting each and every moment as they unfold. Trying to be in the now with full awareness and letting go of the past. Ultimately loving everyone and everything and doing your best to live a life of Ahimsa.

Mina, Serbia:

“Minds were talking, ‘Why are they following Mohanji?!!?’ God replied: ‘Mohanji does not accept anybody to follow Him, He approves only BECOMING MOHANJI.’

Being Mohanji, for me, means living 100% selfless life, where one does not care about his food, clothing, time, rest, and not caring whether he will even get any of these on a daily basis.

Being Mohanji means consciously leaving every kind of self-comfort to instead serve the world.

Being Mohanji is never partially like ‘weekends excluded’ etc. It means serving the world 24 hours/7 days a week. No rest.

To be Mohanji is to be extremely rich from the inside – egoless to care for and love even those who stab us from behind and hate us. It is choosing to look at all as the survivors and warriors of their own inner battles. It means understanding.

Being Mohanji means to keep giving, giving and giving. Never taking. Just accepting whatever comes.

Being Mohanji means to be positive, but not as people may interpret – sitting in a chair and positively relaxing. Being positive as Mohanji is is positiveness IN ACTION. No imagination. Being Mohanji means being REAL and living a PROOF that living selflessly is POSSIBLE.

It is not easy to be Mohanji 24/7. But, Mohanji is.

Being Mohanji means shifting from ‘I do this for me’ into ‘I do this for the world.’ The path further takes us to ‘I live for the world.’ and the destination is ‘I become the world.’ Unity. Only here compassion can blossom. Violence dies in the ocean of compassion. Choose whichever light you want to shine – for us, Mohanji is the Sun that we shall shine. ‘Following’ Mohanji is not our aim. BEING Mohanji is.”

Krishna – The One and Only Truth of my Life

Written by Deepa Nair

27th Aug, 2013

On the occasion of Janmashtami I wish to share the truth existence  experienced during last 4 years. It is Krishna and nothing else. But the truth was shown to me after several tests only. When Vivek, my son left his physical body I could feel the strong and loving presence of lord for the first time in life. Till then, completely lost in terrestrial existence I could never feel the love he was showering on me. On the 3rd day after Vivek left us lord came to my hand in the form of Bhagavatham. Ever since lord is guiding me with his unconditional love. Lord asked me to see my child in all the children and serve them selflessly. He showers endless blessings to his devotees.

Soon after Vivek’s death I got the fortune to meet lord as a young boy in Guruvayoor temple who assured me that Vivek is safe in his abode. But illusion is so strong that it keep on creating doubts in the mind of devotees. The kind lord answers all prayers of his beloved devotees again and again.

In the path of liberation whenever I stumbled, lord sent his representatives to pick me up and lead me forward against all odds. There are numerous occasions like that.

These tangible experiences prove lord’s immeasurable love and kindness for his devotees. Two of them I want to share with you.

Although I was getting profound experiences in POP meditations, I had doubts about possibility of hallucinations. Some external opinions added to it. I prayed to Krishna intensely for help. Shernazji was the instrument to clarify this doubt. One Friday I could not attend the group meditation and I meditated from home. Then  I had a beautiful vision of lord Muruga blessing me. Next day Shernazji took me to a swami who is in the consciousness of lord Saravana. Without any enquiry swami told me that he came in my meditation to bless me. He assured me that I am going to have a soul union with Krishna soon.

The next one is the most profound experience I had. I lost my son at the age of 38. Due to tubal sterilisation which I had done and my age doctors were negative about the chance of having another child. But due to intense mental depression I was not able to digest this fact and went for the treatment. There was no result and after one year I left that desire too. On my birthday on March 2012 Baba sent me blessings in a unique, miraculous way.

I had earlier mentioned about Mukundanji in Dubai famous for Baba’s consciousness. That particular day I was in a very bad mood feeling the emptiness and with a troubled mind I was spending the day. Suddenly I felt the presence of Baba with me and started meditating on him. I had a clear vision of Baba blessing me putting both hands on my head. In a trance state I phoned Mukundanji. Usually I never call him and he will not go to bless anyone unless Baba asks him. When I called him he was surprised. He asked me to come down from the flat. It was a surprise for me. There is at least 20 min driving from his place to my home. But when I reached down I saw Mukundanji waiting for me. He was taking the blessings to one of Baba’s devotees and when he reached near my home Baba asked him to give it to me. He gave me some rose petals from Babas garland in Shirdi and asked me to keep it with me in my bedroom. Baba’s message was to keep faith and rest is assured.

Image

During the Kailsh Yatra I was cleared of many of my past lives karmas by Mohanji. Again in many dreams, lord asked me to keep faith in him and serve unconditionally. In the month of August I had the most powerful astral journey. Sree Sathya Sai Baba came in my dreams for the first time and lead me to the abode of Krishna, taking my hands. I wish I could share the beauty of that experience in words. I saw my child and many other children in lord’s abode. When my body was lying motionless in Sharjah, the real me was taken to different astral planes. I could feel the oneness among all, could experience the detachment and finally I had the bliss of merging to Krishna consciousness. Lord asked me to take pilgrimage with my family to fulfill certain vows and towards the end of it I got the miraculous news that I am blessed with a baby. We got Anagha Lakshmi on 22nd April, 2013. Now when I turn back and see the journey I can see that it’s all Krishna’s mercy. Again and again lord appeared in my life and he is the only truth. This journey will continue…

The power of pure devotion and selfless love can be experienced only with his grace. Even devotion is his gift. I am blessed with  the experience of lords mercy and love in day today life. I had doubts and had been judged wrongly for my devotion and love. But masters kept me under their protection. I had seen Krishna in my father, husband, children and above all in my guru. Today seeing Krishna in every being around me, I am able to face all the challenges with smile. “Whoever is your guru, surrender to the guru tattwa flowing through him”. Soul is much more powerful than body. This is my own experience in the path of truth and the messages I am getting constantly.

As a closing note I humbly invite the soul presence of all family members on the occasion of inaugration of “Vivek memorial hall ” in my small village. This too is a wish came true by master’s blessings. The inauguration is on 1st April at 3pm .

Wishing all of you Krishna consciousness.

Love Only.

Guru – Disciple Relationship

Written by Geetha

“The Guru is God Himself manifesting in a personal form to guide the aspirant. Grace of the God takes the form of Guru. The Guru/Disciple relationship is the highest expression of friendship for it’s based on unconditional love and wisdom. It is the loftiest and most sacred of all relationships.”

Image

I consider myself  twice blessed as I had the great fortune of knowing two great saints at a very close proximity, apart from many virtual gurus. I met my first Guru, Paramahamsa Ramananda,  after my marriage, who initiated me into meditation out of His great love and kindness. Soon after that he attained samadhi at a ripe age of 93. Though I found his unmistakable guidance at every step of my life, my heart longed for a Guru who is approachable and with whom I could converse freely and satisfy my spiritual quest. I would fervently pray my Guru to bless me meet  a “true saint”.
My prayers were finally answered and  the auspicious day had come when I met Guru Mohanji. His unconditional love, compassion, warmth and friendly attitude stuck the chords of my heart. I started to feel that YES this was the Guru I was looking for. Other than praying Him sincerely I knew nothing. He would respond to the prayers immediately and  always said that ‘a true devotee’ is his weakness. I started experiencing a lot of spiritual upliftment in his divine presence and my family and friends also started noticing the shift taking place in me. Just being in His divine presence was enough to experience the change taking place mentally and spiritually.
One fine day Guruji called me aside and said that he wants to initiate me into  “Shaktipat”, so that I am helpful to the people around who are in distress to remove the negative vibes and blocks. Since He cannot be everywhere physically, he told me to do my part for the society. He assured me that it will be through me He will be operating and I  being only the medium. My happiness knew no bounds as this was my mission in life, to be helpful to the people around. I was wondering how a True Guru understands the psyche of His disciple. I just couldn’t thank all the Gods and Gurus who were guiding me above for giving me this rare opportunity to help others.
I noticed on my first POP meditation Guruji’s hand doing Shaktipat to me first. When I started to give Shaktipat to my friends, I strongly felt the invisible hand of our Guruji over mine. It was blissful to feel how a True Guru keeps up His word.
I messaged my experience to Mohanji for which he said he was there during the meditation and he was very happy the way it was conducted. Last but not the least, in his usual sense of humor he said that the “dosas” which I made as an offering to him were very delicious. What a fortune it was to hear this.
When a Guru’s grace falls on the disciple, so many bad karmas gets washed away due to their compassion and benignity. All that we need to do is to follow the Guru’s teachings and love Him sincerely from the heart.

Fragrance of Devotion

Fragrance of Devotion

Written by Bless The World Family

Image
Three albums were released~ Fragrance of Devotion, M and Mohanji Gayatri Mantra. These CDs are a collection of Aartis and Bhajans; written, composed, and sung by Mohanji’s devotees, expressing their deep love and gratitude for their beloved Master.

2nd June 2013, was marked as a memorable day indeed for the entire Bless The World family. The launch of first ever music album sung by the devotees of Mohanji, expressing their deep love and gratitude towards Him, which otherwise is so beyond words.

The journey began when during the Power of Purity meditation in Muscat, Nandita Singh, one of the BTW members (resident of Gurgaon) saw a vision of many people performing Aarti of Mohanji. Nandita kept this to herself on that day. Next day when she visited Mohanji again, Mohanji said “Aarti has been written by someone and is in Pune.” Nandita understood the message. The vision was then shared with others, and then there was no looking back. ONE STEP TAKEN BY A DEVOTEE WAS SUPPORTED BY THOUSAND STEPS OF THE MASTER.

Image
Nandita Singh receiving a memento of appreciation of Inherent Selflessness from Mohanji. A shining example of In deep devotion and faith in Mohanji, she single handedly encouraged all untrained singers, music players and lyricists and produced these three albums!! A much deserved memento!

He paved the path and showered guidance at every step from there on. Within next 24 hours Harshini, another devotee had the Aarti written. This was unexpected for our human minds. Yet Grace and the devotee’s devotion failed the mind. We all then started looking around for singers and musicians. Word was spread over. But Master didn’t want to wait! Within minutes of spreading the word, one devotee ‘happened’ to visit Shirdi Sai Baba temple at Lodhi Road, and her attention was taken straight to the singer performing there.  She asked him, and he agreed to sing the Aarti. NO DELAYS! The first Aarti was sung and recorded over the mobile phone! Master’s plan had started to take shape in front of our physical eyes. This first Aarti created ripples in the hearts of many, and touched the devotion unexpressed in them.

Image
Mohanji presenting Memento to Harshini Titra who has written lyrics for various songs in the Album~ Fragrance of Devotion

Looking back it seems this Aarti triggered many devotees and gave them the way and opportunity to express their otherwise indescribable love for their Master. All stored emotions oozed out and took shape of many more Bhajans. The GLOBAL BTW family came together; Master was simultaneously working through all. HE became the lyricist, the musician, the technician, the coordinator and even the producer. Suddenly all were empowered and one could just step aside and see the flow of this phenomenon in complete awe. Bhajans started to flow in from across the globe. Now we needed a professional studio with musician. This was meant to be much bigger than we thought. It was not just one Aarti, but a collection of many Bhajans, and definitely not just one CD. Our list of Bhajans was extending with every passing day.

We soon found a recording studio. Aartis and bhajans were recorded again, with lot of rehearsals and in professional supervision. Before we knew we were working on almost 3-4 CDs, including CDs in Mohanji’s voice. He graciously accepted our request of coming to the recording studio and gave His voice to chants. The CD is in the making.

Image
Mr and Mrs Ranjan are not professional musicians but the feeling in their bhajans and aarti’s were so strong that it touched each and every heart present there.

The production and preparation was a zero tamas activity. There was no scope of delays as it was happening at a break neck speed. One technical challenge that we faced at the last moment was the production of the CDs. When the final songs were recorded and finalized, there were only four days left for the launch. We approached Moser Baer for the production and they agreed to give it in this short time. Usually their minimum time line is two weeks. But it meant that they had to be giving all the cover designs, labels, etc in few hours! Tamas was beaten to death and four CD cover designs and CD labels were made in just four hours and delivered to Moser Baer! This certainly is unheard of in the music industry! And again, the design work was also done in-house and was the expression of love and devotion for the Guru

What was next! THE LAUNCH of this ‘phenomenon’.

A historic event indeed! Three albums were released; Fragrance of Devotion

These CDs are a collection of Aartis and Bhajans; written, composed, and sung by His devotees, expressing their deep love and gratitude for their beloved Master.

The guest of honor was Mr. Dipak Haksar, COO of ITC Group. The singers shone with bhakti by having live performances and Mohanji Himself gave satvic prasad from Madhuban to all. The event was further graced when Mohanji presented Mementos of appreciation for inherent selflessness to all the volunteers. It was a day of immense love, grace and celebration for all.

The day ended with million smiles, love flowing in every heart, and a deep sense of gratitude, however the events of the day tried their best to deviate us from it all. This was a special event, first of its kind, for every member. The entire family was working as ONE to bring it together. Be it the production of CDs, preparation of venue, organizing the prasaad, or managing the event on the day. Few members got together even a night before to prepare the small packs of incense which were given to the people as a small token of ‘fragrance of devotion’, to label the CDs, to run through the list of ‘to do things’. It felt like a wedding in the family 🙂 The morning of 2nd June started off well, the venue was dressed and decorated with flowers, musicians came, volunteers were all dressed in Indian attires adding to the flavour of the evening, singers rehearsing, with Master’s pictures in the background.

The entire ambience was only to be felt, HE was in every atom in that moment, so visible. Then the physical form arrived, Mohanji reached the venue 30 minutes before the scheduled time. From our experience of organizing events in Delhi, we knew there was a reason to this, too. He quietly went into the library of Sri Ramana Kendra (the venue) to wait for the event to start. People were walking in, volunteers welcoming them with tilak and a small pack of incense. All were seated, eagerly waiting for Mohanji to enter the main hall, when JUST THEN WE HEARD SOME BLASTS. One after the other and we had a sudden power cut at the venue.

The main electricity unit of the building had caught fire. Everyone ran to the unit and there was a sudden panic due to the fire. Mohanji was informed and He immediately walked to it, too. In the meantime the fire extinguishers from across building were brought in, and the fire was put to rest. Mohanji stood there, SMILING, almost GIGGLING, and we knew who did it 🙂

And then we witnessed one of the most amazing things of the evening, NO ONE PANICKED ABOUT HOW THE LAUNCH WILL HAPPEN WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. Everyone was calm and composed, and certain that the live performances will happen as scheduled without microphones, audiences will sit without fans and air-conditioning in the Delhi heat. And just then Mohanji announced that we will go ahead without the electricity and WE DID!

Master has His own ways! With this incident, we cannot even comprehend what He removed from so many of us. His ways are beyond our minds, all we can do is have FAITH, Surrender to His Divine sports and allow ourselves to flow. Launch evening was the perfect example of this.

Even without the electricity we had the most beautiful evening of Devotion. Devotees sang from their heart, which needed no microphones and speakers to reach the heart of others. About 60 people took turn to perform Mohanji’s aarti, with loud singing from hearts, high beats of claps with tabla and harmonium, we all experienced an indescribable HIGH.

We are certain that the lives of all those who are a part of this ‘phenomenon’ have changed. Bringing this collection together was no less than a miracle. None of these singers or composers or even the producers, had ever stepped into a recording studio in their lives before this. Their inspiration is Mohanji and their intention is to share with the world the joy and transformation they experienced through Mohanji. When the hearts were open, the words flowed, the music came, shy housewives sang, corporate officials turned writers; a group of novice not-even-musicians followed the call of their hearts and sang praises of their Master, every word expressing deep Gratitude and Love

Mr. and Mrs. Ranjan – Composed and sung Bhajans for ‘Fragrance of Devotion’, share one of their many experiences.

I was driving in my car to office, one and a half hours drive from my home in Gurgaon, when there was a strong urge to write and sing a Bhajan for Mohanji.

Sitting in the back seat of the car, my eyes closed, it was as if words started filling me. In just a matter of 30 minutes the words for the Bhajan were with me. I have never in my life written even a poem what to talk of Bhajan of three stanzas but here it was – ‘Hum Sabke Ke Pyare Mohan’.  I instantly knew that my desire was given words by some divine power – who else could it be but Mohanji Himself!

I had an old Hindi Bhajan and I found that the words given to me were fitting beautifully to that. I discussed with my wife Vibha and we decided to sing it. We thought the song came out quite well and we were eager to present it to Mohanji. Nandita then informed us that a CD of Aartis and Bhajans is being planned but that the music should not be a copy of any song; and it should be original! She then said just take Mohanji’s name and try new original music and it will come! Neither me nor Vibha are music composers nor we have that in us. But on being coaxed by Nandita we sat with the harmonium and there was an absolute miracle. The music flowed and in less than 5 minutes the Bhajan in its present form was before us! We were totally overwhelmed with emotions at Mohanji’s help!

It was a exhilarating experience to sing the Bhajan live in Mohanji’s Divine presence on 2nd June at the launch of the CD at the Ramana Kendra.

Arihant Gupta – Singer and Composer for the Album ‘M’, shares his journey of the making his debut album.

Birth of “M “(Music Album of devotional songs)

There is so much to tell about the experience of working of our father Divine Mohanji with me that one finds it difficult from where to start. But I would like to start right from the beginning.

Our group of BTW family members in Jammu started our journey to Kud  ‘Mohanji’s Dham’ in J&K by passing through Udhampur, as Mohanji had to meet the children in ISKCON temple there. I had decided a long time back that I will seek my Guruji’s opinion regarding my deep interest in music so that He suggests me which path to follow, as my efforts were useless otherwise. Finally when we reached Kud and were sitting with Him next morning I got the opportunity and I told Him. To my surprise Mohanji’s response was so quick and positive that without even thinking or testing me for once He straight away asked me to create an album of devotional songs for BTW family and most importantly He had so much of faith and confidence in me about my capabilities which no one had, not even my own parents. Even though they always have been a big support but they also feared if I would be able to handle such a huge responsibility.

I was overwhelmed with happiness and the confidence my Master had in me. He also mentioned that in SIX MONTHS time the album will be finished and launched. Then every bit of detail, like number of songs and title of the album, source and matter for lyrics etc. were automatically taking place in the same manner.

Devotional songs to the highest consciousness in body, Mohanji. Everybody was inspired to express their love in new ways. Arihan Gupta singing a song from his album “M”

From there started the journey and Birth of “M”. I had my own bit of doubts that how everything will go and take final shape. But since my Master had so much of confidence in me I became fearless and started working on the album. I wrote the first lyrics and then composed my first song ”O gracious one” which gave me inspiration to work further. Despite such a busy schedule with my studies, I was working on this album with a lot of interest and many creative thoughts started knocking at my door. It was clearly visible how Master was working through me and managing everything.

I would also like to mention that whenever my thoughts were clear and surrendered to Master only then His Grace would flow in me. At times when mind was occupied and I felt as if I was out of connection with Him, doesn’t matter how hard I tried nothing happened. It was only when my heart was clear and thoughts channelized that music, lyrics and different compositions came within me.

Subtle beings always feel divinity easily …and are happy to take His blessings always.

One of the most astounding of all experiences was of composing of “Hare Krishna“.  We had come back from Kumbh Mela and I had a strong feeling that something really big has to happen. The very next day as I was sitting in my room alone after dinner and trying to sleep, suddenly a thought to play guitar came in my mind. The lights were all off and as I connected with Mohanji and started strumming on my guitar something out of the world happened. I started chanting Hare Krishna, which had completely taken over me during Kumbh Mela and with my eyes closed I first experienced white light. The words and chords automatically started flowing and so did the framing of song structure. It is hard to believe that the whole song was composed and designed in just 15 minutes, which is impossible as compared with the quality of the composition formed.

I was speechless and in a state of complete bliss!!!

Then came the time of final exams in college and I still had five more songs to work on. I started getting restless and a bit hyper as to how the things will go further. But with my faith in Master, the things went so easily, comfortably and beautifully.

Finally the composition part was done and now we were left with recording the Album in studio, but unfortunately I fell sick and was hospitalized. Constant thoughts of completing the album were always on my mind. There also with divine grace of Mohanji I recovered so quickly, that everything happened on time once again. Soon we started with recording of my vocals and guitar. Since time for producing the CDs needed at least 5 days, we were running short of time. But with Mohanji’s grace and His presence all the time we were able to give music to all 9 songs in just 18 hours. On last evening I and Guna (our studio guy) started at 1pm and completed the work at 6am the next morning. I still remember that even after working the whole night I had so much of energy in me that I was completely fresh without any urge to sleep or rest.

As Mohanji was in Delhi at that time, I went to meet Him after completing the work. He had just taken his bath and came out the room, we both had an eye contact and smiled. He, with such humbleness and simplicity, asked me, ‘how did it go? Are you satisfied?’ I was overwhelmed with happiness, wanted to tell Him everything I experienced, but His smiled conveyed that He knew already.

My father told me once that I and your mother may not be there with you forever but one thing you must know, that you have your divine father Mohanji is with you and will always be there with you forever.
