Our heart is not always in our control. There are certain things that we are never satisfied with. One such thing is the desire to be in the physical presence of Mohanji even if it is only for a fleeting second. I am sure most of us can relate to this and I am no exception. I did have two wonderful days in his presence when he came to Chennai. Two months later, here I was craving to meet him again. Although the heart yearned, I felt there was no chance. But Mohanji, who knows everything, who is pure consciousness, fulfilled this heartfelt desire. It was not just about meeting him but needing that beautiful hug from him.

29th November 2019, is etched in my memory as I got that spontaneous hug from Mohanji. The day started as usual and by evening I was busy with my routine, but a call from Radha Shyam at about 6:45 pm changed everything. Her excited but doubtful voice conveyed that Mohanji would be at the airport for a few minutes to catch a flight which was scheduled to leave at 9:00 pm. She hesitatingly asked if we would be able to make it to the airport.

My dull and boring evening suddenly became charged and within 30 minutes and two more phone calls of planning, we were on our way in a cab along with Radha’s husband Srinivas! The atmosphere was tense as the traffic was heavy due to the peak hour and we had a very casual and slow driver who wanted to discuss everything under the sun. I started repeating the Mohanji Gayatri and prayed to him that having made us come this far, he should give us his darshan too.

Almost an hour later, we edged closer to the airport. In the meantime, luckily I was able to get in touch with Madhu for his flight details. We then googled to know the terminal and excitedly reached the place. To our joy, we found that his flight was delayed by half an hour but there was no sign of Mohanji. Mohanji was also delayed as the traffic was heavy. So now you know why the flight was delayed!

Soon, within 10 minutes, we saw a car speeding by and Madhu was frantically waving and pointing in the opposite direction. I turned around and my eyes fell on a man walking casually with a beaming smile in jeans and a t-shirt. I just shouted over my shoulder to the others that Mohanji is here, and ran into his outstretched arms. Mohanji gave me a long hug that I had been waiting for. All that I could utter in that second was “Oh, My God!” resting my head on his shoulder.

img-20200116-wa00108397693034495945107.jpg

I just felt immense happiness, secure that I was in a safe place completely protected and blessed. Nothing else mattered.

I need to say one thing here. Each time I met Mohanji, it was I who always asked for a hug and this was the first time that it came from him spontaneously.

The happiness was written all over my face as I stayed by his side watching him greet others. The others spoke to him and even asked him some questions.

Revathy had also come with her children to seek blessings along with a special sweet. He asked me to open it and after tasting it, he returned the box of sweets to us. We received our prasad too. Within a short span of 10 minutes, we even managed to click pictures. All too soon, Mohanji had to leave and we still managed to wait there looking through the glass doors. As he was entering, I just mentioned to Mohanji that his flight has been delayed, to which he replied with an all-knowing smile, “Yes, it had to be delayed by a few minutes only as we were caught traffic.”

We watched Mohanji getting the check-in done and I blurted out, “Mohanji, please turn around and wave to us.” As though on cue, he turned around and waved with a broad smile on his face and then moved away from our sight. Our cups were overflowing.

Only on reaching home and reliving these precious moments, did I realise the impact of the whole incident. The all-pervasive, omnipresent Mohanji in his compassion and love had orchestrated the whole thing and enabled us to meet him and filled us with happiness and positive energy. The last-minute notice of Mohanji’s arrival, the traffic delays and finally the delay of the flight were not coincidences. If the flight had been on time, we would not have been able to meet him.

As I thank Mohanji in immense gratitude, I realise that he gave us this opportunity to only energise us. I had been communicating with him every day mentally, thanking him and sharing with him everything, and had also during my ramblings told him how a hug from him would make a world of a difference. All that I can do is watch in awe as he fulfils every prayer. I do not understand the intricate details and ways in which he takes care of each of us, but beginning to see the big picture. I don’t understand what I have done to deserve this, but I feel so blessed with the love and the grace that he showers on me. Thank you Mohanji!

Mohanji Satcharita – Chapter 9 – “Mohanji’s grace – A gift of new life”

Fire of awareness

Neelu Vepu (Mohana Bhaktipriya), accounts how Mohanji bestowed His grace upon her mother to tide over the unseen complications of the operation, which saved her life.  We are happy to share this third experience in the series – Mohanji Satcharita – Chapter 9.

Mohanji’s grace – A gift of new life!

By Neelu Vepu

To describe a Master’s grace upon us is a very difficult task, as we with our limited human faculties, cannot understand the extent to which a Master helps a devotee to cross the quagmire of Karma.

Here is one such humble attempt of mine of how he saved my mother from a painful health issue.

In the month of March 2019, my mother had developed some gynaecological problems, wherein she was advised hysterectomy, after the usual rounds of tests, including a biopsy. Thankfully the tests did not reveal anything to trigger panic, but the operation was mandatory to avoid any future problems that could occur considering her age.

Prior to this, my mother never faced any serious health issues, and this would be the first time she would be admitted to a hospital. The thought of seeing her on a hospital bed was making me feel extremely depressed. But then, I had reassured myself that Mohanji was taking care of everything.

We planned to have her operation in May, as it would be summer vacation for my kids, and I could be around with my parents in Hyderabad, to help them through this period.

The morning of May 14th, while my mother was under the knife, I went on a chanting mode (Mohanji Gayatri Mantra) all through that duration. The operation was successful! However, the ordeal started the next day. She was coughing constantly and the X-Ray reports showed a severe lung infection, in spite of all the antibiotics that had been injected, as is always done after surgery. Her coughing continued for two days continuously.

She couldn’t take anything orally even after three days of operation. Her haemoglobin level had dropped considerably. She had become so weak that she was unable to speak even for a minute. Adding to her troubles, she developed dysentery. The oxygen levels in her blood went so low that, she even had to be put on an oxygen mask.

Unable to find the cause of the lung infection in this hospital, the doctors advised her to be shifted to another hospital, to get more tests done, to know the cause of the lung infection.

While my mother was going through all these, I messaged Mohanji to take care of her and relieve her from the suffering. He replied that he was taking care of her. He also said that one has to go through these things and changing their course would affect negatively.

He advised me to do a few things to reduce her karma, which I did immediately. I was very frightened, seeing her in this situation, but I had the faith that Mohanji was working on her.

On May 19th, she was shifted to yet another big hospital, and all the necessary tests and scans were done to know the cause of the lung infection. By His Grace, all the tests were normal, but she was still on oxygen.

She was also given a distance Mai-Tri Method. As a Mai-Tri practitioner, I also tried the Mai-Tri method on her. Interestingly, my mother would feel Mohanji’s hand on her head, even after I would remove mine. She could clearly feel his loving and gentle energy healing her. Slowly but gradually, her condition improved. She started taking solid food and all her complications gradually started decreasing. Mohanji’s grace was clearly visible.

The critical case, which was being referred to ICU (Intensive Care Unit), was so easily transformed into a positively responding case. Her dysentery stopped, the haemoglobin count became normal, lung infection reduced considerably, the persistent cough was gone, oxygen saturation levels were normal. In a couple of days, she was able to breathe normally without any external support. After a week’s stay in the new hospital, she was declared to be fit to be discharged on May 24th.

A normal post-surgery five-day stay in the hospital, got extended into a 12-day long stay!

All is well, that ends well! Now she is recovering very fast, which is Mohanji’s grace in full bloom.

Dear, if your faith in me is true, unshakeable and intense, your faith in me will never go wasted. I guarantee… – Mohanji

Mohanji, not only took care of my mother, he took care of me as well, in this tough time. I was with my mother, the whole time with almost no sleep and no rest in the hot summer for 12 days. I had to shuttle between our house and the hospital in the hot sun, to take care of my kids and to cook. I could feel his energy take over, whenever I felt exhausted. He always consoled me whenever I would cry at my mother’s painful condition. He gave me the mental and physical strength to go through all this. It was a real ordeal to see my mother lying so helplessly for days together and at the same time to put up a brave face in front of everyone and cheer my mother. He made me take care of my mother as a small baby. It was really MOHANJI everywhere. I always felt, only HE existed, I was nowhere present.

Any volume of words would fall short to express gratitude to the unconditional love and protection, Mohanji showers upon us.

Thank you My Gurudev for everything.
Love you forever.

Mohanji prayer

He and His Father Are One

Written by Viji Sagar, USA

Mohanji pada Pooja

It was a cold and dreary winter afternoon with a constant drizzle.  It was cold and wet, a perfect day to stay indoor cuddled up with a nice book.  One could feel the chillness  penetrating all the way to the bones.  None of this would stop me from driving an hour to bring home Mohanji’s padukas. I have been eagerly waiting for them a few weeks now, and I couldn’t wait any longer.

Once the padukas were home, they were received with full honor and arti was performed before being placed on the altar.  It was late when we came home so I had planned to do pada pooja the next day when I came back from work. Being the first day of the work week, I got extremely busy.  The same thing repeated the next day and the day after. A couple of days slipped by without doing the pada puja,  so I convinced myself that I would do the puja on Thursday which was an auspicious day anyway.

Thursday rolled around and I went through the usual routine of work and the long drive home completely forgetting about my commitment to do pada puja.  Around 7pm, I was lazing around on the couch watching TV, when there was this urge for me to get up, because I had to do something, but just didn’t know what it was.  I tried to ignore it and focused on the show I was watching but that urge intensified to the point that I could not enjoy the show any more.  At the same time, I also noticed that my little dog was sitting in front of me just staring at me as if he wanted to say something. When I got up to get him a treat, he just walked to the altar and sat next to it wagging his tail, as if to remind me to do the pada puja.

I quickly got the stuff together for the puja and realized I did not have fresh flowers.  How could I do pada puja without fresh flowers for my beloved Mohanji’s padukas? So once again, Lady Tamas took over. I told myself that I would buy fresh flowers and do the puja on Friday morning.  In the meantime, I decided to chant the Sai mantra and played the Sai Sahasranaama on YouTube from my phone. I left my phone in the next room and settled down on the floor to chant Sai mantra.  As I sat down to chant, I looked at Sai Baba’s pic and thought to myself, Baba is senior anyway, I will chant for Him on Thursday and tomorrow I will do the pada puja. It is absolutely ridiculous, the games the mind plays on you when you engage it.

I started the chanting and after just nine chants of the Sai mantra, miraculously the music switched over to Mohanji Gayatri mantra. I was shocked and confused. How could this happen? The Sai mantra was playing on YouTube and the Mohanji Gayatri was on iTunes? The phone was in the other room so I could not have done it by mistake and there was no one else in the house. I dared not question or analyze further at this point. 🙂  I picked up some viboothi, and placing it on the padukas instead of flowers, I completed the pada puja by chanting the Gayatri.  I proceeded to perform aarati and after bowing to Sai Baba and Mohanji and apologizing for my ignorance. The phone automatically switched back to Sai Sahasranaama,  as if to tell me apology accepted 🙂

Mohanji pada Pooja 1.jpg

There were multiple lessons for me in this episode.  1. There is no hierarchy in the Guru parampara.  It is one unified force that works together for our evolution and ultimately liberation.  2. Material things (flowers, incense etc.) are not a requirement to show our love and reverence to our guru. It is all for our personal satisfaction. 3. When needed, Gurus communicate to us through multiple mediums, be it a dog or a phone. 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you make a commitment to your guru, He ALWAYS shows up with open arms to receive your offering of love.  Remember to keep your end of the commitment.

Many Mohanji family members were Sai Baba devotees first, before they met Mohanji.  In my case it was reversed. Mohanji was my guru first before I became aware of Sai Baba.  Through this experience sharing, I hope to help those who question the stature of Mohanji, or still see a distinction between Sai Baba and Mohanji, to realize that HE and HIS Father are ONE.
