Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 113 & 114

by Christopher Greenwood

Day 113 Lesson – Life is happening every moment

Good morning, everybody. I hope that you’re doing well.

Yesterday I spoke on the subject of contentment and the goal of trying to find it in the moment to moment experience. For me personally, it’s an ongoing practice because I find my mind keeps shifting the goalposts, keeps dreaming up new ideas, new goals of what contentment would be. I’m sure there’s something inside me, some desires coming out. Although I can’t stop this, there is some awareness where I can at least observe and see what’s happening.

I remember a story from a satsang with Mohanji, which illustrates well the destabilizing effect that the mind can have on our contentment and the shifting goals that it creates. Rarely we are happy with what we have; there’s always something more to be gained somewhere else: ‘If I have this, I’ll be happy. If I’m there, I’ll be happier.’ I thought this was a good story, and I’ll read it as it was told.

There was a master who was addressing a group of people. There were many people in the group who were married, and there were also a lot of people who would like to get married. So, he segregated them; he put a line in the middle. On one side, he put all the married people, and on the other side, all the unmarried people. Then he said, if you’re happy with your marriage, if you’re really contented, stay where you are; otherwise, crossover. All the unmarried people crossed over to the other side, and all the people who wanted to get out of marriage crossed over to the other side. So basically, all the unmarried people wanted to get married, and all the married people wished otherwise.

Mohanji shared this in the satsang and said that this is the human mind. It’s exactly how our mind works. Thinking about what he spoke about, I understood that we rarely appreciate what we have. Therefore, before we can really bring what we want in life, we must appreciate what’s already there. Usually, we don’t have any value for what we have; we don’t cherish it. And somehow, we want to get out of it.

Our goals are always changing. What happens when they change? That becomes very destabilizing. Certain issues can come into life, like confusions: ‘I don’t know what to do, is this the right thing I’m doing? Is there something better I can be doing?’ All these questions can come because goals are changing.

There’ve been some cases where I’ve experienced that during my time here. Not too extreme situations but being able to observe that you can become very settled with what you have, and then you begin to lose value for it.

Mohanji also shared another story. There was one man, and his friend had told him, “My father would like to see you” because they’d been classmates for some time. His father wasn’t well, and he wanted to see him. So, he invited him to his home; he brought the friend back to his house. And he went and saw the father. The father was paralyzed; he was bedridden, had a stroke, and couldn’t move anymore. Probably bedridden for six months or so. They both sat next to each other; he held his hand and spoke about the past. The friend asked, “Is this something that I could do for you? Do you have any desire? Do you have any wish?” The father just said, “Before I die, I would just like to walk from this bed to the gate of the house, to the front of the house and come back.” That was his goal. That was all he wanted to do. His aim was just to get out of bed, walk, and come back.

This story resonated with me because it reinforced a lesson that I’d seen with my grandfather. He contracted cancer, and in the last days of his life, he was in a hospice where they took care of him and all his needs. He’d become very weak, so the nurse had to bathe him; he needed to be lifted out of bed and put in a special room where they could wash him. And that was his call, too; he said that all he wanted to do was just be able to get from the bed by himself, get into the bathroom by himself and wash. That was his complete focus, which he never achieved. But that’s what his aim had come to.

This story Mohanji shared is a good reminder that only when we reach a certain position in life, do we realize that our aims are not that complicated. But for that man to walk from the bed to the front of the house was impossible. Someone had to carry him.

Mohanji said in that talk that we must understand that this is life. It’s happening every moment. And when it’s happening, we don’t value it. We’re talking, we’re listening, all our senses are working, and we don’t value most of it. Sometimes we don’t even value relationships; we don’t value what we have in them, what’s being given to us, what we have in abundance. If we believe that we can have something else, and it will be better, it is probably not the case. Life won’t work that way. We can cherish every bit of what we have, and that’s where to start.

These are the notes I found yesterday after looking more at contentment. Although I’d read this and understood it before, it was a good reminder to look at this again especially when putting that in relation to experiencing moment to moment contentment, cherishing every bit of what we have.

I hope you have a good day and I will speak to you soon.

Day 114 Lesson – Sharing what we do & the new family members

Good morning, everybody. I hope that you’re doing well.

I hadn’t spoken for some time about what’s happening around the house, so I’ll share with you some additions we’ve had to the family of beings who regularly come to the house for food and just to be here. We have crows, other birds, squirrels, and small beings like ants, but about a month back, a mother cat arrived with three kittens.

She was coming before for some time; she was very scared, fearful, and clearly pregnant. But she was very nervous. She would be meowing for food, and we would put some food out. But then she’d stay at a big distance, even across the other side of the road, until we’d move. Then she’d come and eat the food. You couldn’t even touch her. And then she disappeared for some time.

But now she has come back, and she’s lounging on the grass in the sun with the kids. They’ve become so comfortable the other day that they even decided to walk into the house. I had to chase them out the back door of the kitchen. Now each morning they’re there, they play fighting, playing in the bushes, making noise for food, much to the annoyance of the birds. Especially the squirrels, they get really angry with all the cats there now.

There used to just be just one, which came from time to time. But now there are four, jumping around the garden. I think they must feel the energy of the house and like settling here. There’s big healing energy. Also, the tulsi brushes have grown a lot, giving a nice freshness to the place.

Besides the new additions to the family at the house, I wanted to share a lesson that I’d picked up from Mohanji about how to speak about the Mohanji platforms and all the activities. This is related to sharing what we’re doing with people; this is a place where people can come, share their gifts, give back, and feel a sense of fulfillment from serving. And there are many opportunities for people in many ways to do that.

What I liked about Mohanji, observing him, is that he is very matter-of-fact when he speaks about the platforms. He said before that the way of the tradition is never to promote or canvass; we simply have to announce, and then those who will come will come. From his calls and his meetings, I’ve observed that he’ll share at the right time, in the right conversation, what we’re doing with organizations like Ammucare, Act4Hunger, and World Consciousness Alliance, depending on who he’s communicating with.

He simply explains the vision of what we’re looking to achieve, what we’ve done, and what we’re trying to do next. Maybe he’ll mention some of the challenges that we have. More often than not, I see that people’s interest is sparked. Even if they don’t want to volunteer, they are interested to know that something good and positive is happening in the world. Then, another person knows the great things that we’re doing. And who knows, they may pass that on to somebody else, too.

This was a learning because I wouldn’t say I was hesitant, but it was never really at the forefront of my mind to just share what I was doing. I’m so involved in the activity and understand people are as involved in theirs. There was never understanding on my part that people would be interested to hear these types of things. Thus, following Mohanji’s lead, I took a cue to start speaking more about the platforms, especially with my friends, family, and my old business networks. Many are busy with their own activities, but I’m finding that people are becoming really inspired by what we’re doing in the world. And many are saying that, when they have some free time, they’d love to contribute something.

It’s been a learning for me that people are looking for a place to do something for the world. Many people are. And personally, in the teams that I’m part of, we have a lot to do. Thus, I’m always looking for how we can either bring people in or outsource. By speaking to people about it, I find that connections are opening quickly and easily. I’m sure this is the grace of Mohanji coming through.

For example, recently, I was looking for someone to help with slides and graphics. I just shared this with somebody in a conversation. Then they said, “I know somebody who does this, and they’re really good. I’ll put you in touch.” So, this person arranged the contact with the other person, and yesterday, they sent back a proposal. All this happened quickly. Growing connections could potentially, in the future, turn into more volunteers, too.

This lesson is significant for me now because I need to build strong teams, especially for the Mohanji office. As activities increase, we will need more people here who can help represent that. If anyone is interested in knowing more about speaking about the platforms, maybe they’re interested in doing so too; I’m happy to share. So do message me.

Have a great day ahead.

Lessons living with Mohanji – Days 105 & 106

By Christopher Greenwood

Day 105 Lesson – Meditate and pre-plan

Yesterday I was thinking back to some of the lessons, tips, and guidance that Mohanji shared since living with him about the more practical aspects of this role and life in general. I don’t think I could have asked for a better guide or mentor when it comes to leadership, management, organisation, and planning. He’s handled so much in his career and is also handling so much now. As my background is from the world of business, I’ve always found it useful to look up to someone as a mentor to learn and grow from, and Mohanji is definitely one of the best that I’ve had.

For me, it helps a lot to hear his experiences and how I can apply them to the work I’m doing. Today, I wanted to share a story from Mohanji’s work life, which is a great example of the advice he often gives to team leaders. It’s about pre-planning and meditating on what you need to accomplish before moving into any action. That’s important because only when we’re clear, it is possible to guide others.

As the summit has come to a close, this is a really good example of how pre-planning, thinking ahead and meditating on what needs to be done can help. Maybe it helps all the teams involved.

This was from a time when Mohanji was handling five countries for a shipping company. This means many different types of ships would come to use the port; cargo ships, cruise ships, huge oil tankers, etc.; it’s incredibly dynamic. The prices fluctuate for oil every hour, the weather, the tides, everything’s changing. It is important that everything is timed and planned correctly for quick unloading and loading, so there are no delays; otherwise, they could be waiting longer than necessary. And for them, that’s losing money and time.

Mohanji had a reputation for getting things done. He was so good that people used to pay him more because they knew they didn’t have to worry if it was with him. That was his reputation and the respect he built. I think the head of Toyota spoke about Mohanji. He said, “If we give business to Mr Mohan, we can sleep peacefully; it will be done.” Like that, he worked error-free. People would tell him, “It’s impossible”, and then he would ask, “Who said so?” And then he would prove that it wasn’t.

This attitude was how he got an award from the Japanese Navy. And they had never given an award to anybody before. But by following the protocols and through good pre-planning, Mohanji was awarded this. Even his head office was shocked; they asked how. He just simply said – “pre-planning”.

He had never handled a Navy vessel before. This was the Japanese Navy, and they are very protocol-oriented, as I learned from Mohanji. When Mohanji found out that the ship was coming, he took a copy of all the procedures of what needed to be done, and he meditated on it for some time. He didn’t discuss this with any of his staff, even though some of them had handled Navy ships before. He wanted to be clear on what needed to happen. Otherwise, he can’t tell the team what to do. So, he studied it and understood that timing was crucial.

For example, if something has to happen at 7 am, 8 am, or 9 am, that’s how the Japanese operate, a clear protocol. So, he did that for all those activities that happened at a certain time; he made sure that everything was equal. If something had to happen by 7 am, it was done by 6:30. If it needed to happen by 8 am, it would be done at 7:30. Like that, there should be a clear completion before the requirement has to happen.

The same went with the protocol for receiving the dignitaries of the ship. Obviously, there’s a hierarchy in the Navy, so he made sure that his team matched that. If the admiral were coming off the ship, then Mohanji would be there himself because he’s head of the country. Like that, if the undersecretary were coming, then his operations manager, the next in line to him, would go. The protocol was aligned to everything which they needed.

They were so happy with this, and that’s why they gave him the award. They said they’d been to various ports, but they’d never seen such clinical precision. He was awarded in recognition for that. He achieved that simply by studying beforehand, pre-planning and meditating on what needed to be done.

I think that’s a good lesson, which I look to incorporate anytime I’m taking a serious task.

Day 106 Lesson – Facing life

Today I’ll share another story from Mohanji’s time working in the shipping industry. I like this one because it highlights many lessons and qualities Mohanji has. Like all good stories, people will take the messages that resonate with them the most. To help that happen, I will reserve sharing the lessons which I’ve picked up from this story and leave it for you to find your own.

This story was from around 2002 when Mohanji was working as the country head for a shipping company. A ferry service was introduced, and it was looking to be an alternative to the airlines. At that time, Emirates was just starting, and there were only a few expensive airlines. Also, you could only take limited luggage.

So, a group of people had leased a ferry ship, and probably about 25% of the vessel was closed rooms, and the rest was deck and storage space. That way, many people would have to sit on the deck. That would probably be okay for three or four hours, but this journey was across the Arabian Sea. It was planned to take three or four days, depending on the weather.

They hired the company which Mohanji worked for. The ship would come from Bahrain to Oman, people would load all the things onto the ship, and then it would sail across the Arabian Sea to India. But when it crosses, the ship cannot go straight; it has to zigzag because the waves and the currents can make the ship drift. That adds on maybe half a day or another day. Depending on the weather, the planned three-day trip could even take five days.

All these people would be sitting on the deck; with the wind, the salt, the water vapour, and the sun, they’d be barbecued. Plus, probably some vomiting and seasickness. So, not a good experience.

This ship had announced the line in the newspapers. People were super excited. They said that the amount of luggage you can take is not 25 kilos, but 750 kilos per person, because they could put everything on the ship. People brought all the things, all the garbage, plastic bottles, glass bottles, gas canisters, oils, anything they could take.

Many people had booked, and the agent who would come to the port where Mohanji was, was very excited because they’d planned for maybe 600 or 800 people capacity, and they had bookings for more than 18,000 – 20,000. So, they were going to plan future sailings. Mohanji looked at this; he had thought about it, looked at what was going to happen and said, “I’m not sailing the ship.” The agent said, “What do you mean? How can you say that?” Mohanji just calmly said, “How many people can stay indoors?” The agent said, “50, maybe 60.” Mohanji replied, “Okay, good. If you can arrange so that it’s 60 people taking the ship, we’ll sail it because then that would meet the safety standards.”

This became a huge issue; it was in the newspapers, it was on the TV. They said the airline industry had bribed him to make sure that this didn’t go so that they could benefit. It completely exploded, but throughout all of it, Mohanji was cool. Even his office was afraid; they thought he had gone crazy to take on all this – news, press, ministers, government, and police. But he just kept with what he knew was right and said the ship wasn’t sailing.

The minister even called from Oman and said, “What’s wrong with the ship? This is a new service, and it should be okay.” Mohanji said the ship is not fit to go because of safety and security reasons. He said that if the same was done with a cruise ship, he would agree because everybody has an indoor place, and safety is met. But here, there’s going to be many deaths and ailments on the way.

Also, they say it’s three days across the sea, but it won’t reach in three days if you look at the weather and consider all the currents. It’s at least another day. Mohanji asked if they had food for all these people. And if they don’t, or if they run out, how will they deliver it, by helicopter? Because once they’ve left the shore, you can’t do anything. Whatever they have in store won’t be sufficient for 600-800 people. And most people will be sat on the deck, women and children as well. He repeated that he was not sailing the ship as it didn’t meet the standards.

The complaint then went to the police chief, the ministries and everywhere else to say Mohanji was blocking it. His boss called to find out what was happening and said, “It looks like you’re having some fun there. Do you need any help?” Mohanji said, “No, I’m okay. If anyone calls, just say I’m handling it, I’ll take care.” He took full responsibility. Even the ship owner came, a rich Arab guy, and said, “I’ll buy you.” Mohanji turned around and said, “Well, you may be able to buy other people, but you won’t buy me; you can’t do anything to me.” Like that, he stood firmly.

At that time, there was no internet. People were calling him up on the phone to share lots of colourful wishes to him, lots of abuse, saying he’d been bribed, “who gave you the money”, “who are you working for.” You can imagine all these calls coming in like that.

One evening, he was sitting at home, and he turned on the TV and saw a picture of himself. They were saying that he was suspected of being bribed by the airline industry. It was around 9:30 at night, and he immediately called a press conference. He explained the whole situation; he didn’t take permission; he just did what needed to be done. He said, “This doesn’t meet the safety standards. Do you know how much money these people are making, but there’s no safety for any of the people going, and there’s no guarantee that people will reach alive.” He gave the whole story and blasted them for the situation that they caused.

The next day, it came out on the front page. In the end, I think they tried to negotiate something else; they reduced the passenger count, they also sailed from a different location, Bahrain instead of Oman, I think it was. But six people died on the way, even though there were 50 people in the rooms and very few people on deck. You can imagine if there was 600 people, it would have been a full disaster.

Also, this company had approached many of the shipping agencies who also refused to sail their ship. But they only refused because of Mohanji and what he had spoken. They saw what was going on. They probably wouldn’t have even thought about it in that level of detail. Mohanji standing up to his responsibility and telling the truth had a big value.

But all he was really doing was just thinking logically; three days across the sea, all the people would be out on deck. Even if you took a boat to the sea for three or four hours, it’s hard to handle. Four or five days, with women and children, it wasn’t sensible. He doesn’t like to block other people’s business. But when the blame was put on him, he had to act.

That’s how he has faced most of his life as well, fully head-on. In fact, in some ways, he enjoys a fight, and he will fight to the end; as we’ve experienced here on the badminton court, he never gives in. He loves that. But he also says that, unfortunately, many people choose to fight in the shadows these days, especially in Mohanji’s life and experience. Rarely will they come to him and say, “Hey, I’ve got this problem or this situation. Let’s talk.” It’s always via somebody else or in the shadows.

I hope you enjoyed that story. And I also hope you have a great day ahead.

Being Unconditional

Subhasree, London

Gratitude in Action!

Today (18th Aug 2020) is the day for expressing gratitude for our Guru through actions.

Well, how can I express my gratitude to my eternal Guru, Mohanji? In which actions? I asked this question to myself this morning. My every breath, my every thought, my every action is his! So what can I do for him? What does he even need from me?

Well, whenever I have asked Mohanji, “How can I serve you,” he always says only one statement,

 “Serve the world.”

Though it’s the truth that even serving the world is made possible only because of him, he is the doer, he does it! I do not serve, He serves the world!

So what’s left for me to do then? Only thing I can do maybe.  To share some gems of wisdom that I get from him, not by lecture but through real-life experiences that he shows me through his own living example. Every time I have been around Mohanji, in his physical presence, I have observed many such gems of wisdom that he keeps giving us.

Let me share a couple more examples through which he has taught me of ‘Being Unconditional.’ In this write-up, I will not use the names of the real persons as we do not want to cause any kind of disrespect to anyone.

Mohanji_walkimg on the path of uncondionality

This is almost 2 years back. Mohanji and Deviji were invited to a global event of a spiritual congregation; where there were many other spiritual leaders present too. Along with a few other people from Mohanji family, I was very fortunate to be there too and was serving him as one of his assistants at that time.

While from mornings to late evenings were packed with many events, speeches by other leaders etc., I was observing Mohanji who was leaving a positive mark in everyone’s mind through his behaviour and treatment to others.

While most people had their own groups following around, maintaining distance, having their boundaries (to maintain some status maybe!) even during the social gathering time, Mohanji made sure that he meets and greets everyone politely, with a smile, talking to them very compassionately. Most of the time, he would even invite others to sit with him and offer a cup of coffee or so. During meal times, Mohanji would always invite others to sit next to him. Such a gesture often surprised many of the delegates. In a very impersonal environment, Mohanji was treating everyone with kindness and love as if he was the host of the event.

Also, it was very noticeable that Mohanji would always talk to the other leaders with ultimate respect and humility. There wouldn’t be a drop of ego or race to receive attention! In fact, there is one thing I noticed in this hi-profile spiritual congregation that surprised me. Many other so-called top spiritual leaders were always busy in grabbing the attention and ensuring that they had the spotlight on them, sometimes even pushing their way to the front!

Mohanji kept himself far away from this race. As simple as when there were photos taken, while some would ensure that they stand right in front or centre and get all the visibility, Mohanji will quietly slip to the row in the back!

Every single move from Mohanji was displaying his true nature of calmness, kindness, no judging and giving respect irrespective of anyone’s status and position! Trust me; this wasn’t that easily visible in other so-called spiritual leaders!

But what happened towards the end and how Mohanji again showed his humility, his true nature of unconditional love just totally blew me off!

There were a couple of very respectable leaders who had ensured that they get the spotlights on them in every session, in every platform and nearly made it look like as if the entire event was only possible because of them! Pardon me for saying this, but at one point, I couldn’t stop being annoyed when they deliberately kept ignoring Mohanji and even treated Mohanji as if he was some ordinary guy. There have been situations when they had even turned their faces the other side when Deviji sat next to them!

Few other instances like this were making their intention very clear of ignoring the presence of Mohanji and putting Mohanji’s stature completely down so that they could be seen higher! This hypocritical behaviour was making us very uncomfortable. How do we tolerate such insults to our Guru?

But when we expressed this to Mohanji that time, Mohanji would calmly tell us to ignore and stick to our principle of unconditional love, no expectation from anyone and to be with the attitude of gratitude. It was not easy to digest how Mohanji was so easily being indifferent to such insults to himself! The cherry on the top situation came on the last day!

We all had to travel to our next destination which was a drive for 2 hours. While we were just about to go out, the so-called special guests approached Mohanji directly asking for a lift for two of them! All these days, they hardly had a proper conversation or even exchanged a smile with Mohanji!

When I heard them asking Mohanji about this lift, I nearly shouted out loud “No way!” But Mohanji took us all by surprise in welcoming them.

Trust me, it took me some time to understand and accept what Mohanji just said. I was annoyed with Mohanji and was telling him off in my head, “Why?” I am sure Mohanji didn’t take much time to read my thoughts, which also must have been very clear on my face too!

He said very calmly to us,

“What’s our tradition? Unconditional love, right? It doesn’t matter who treats us in which way. We will always show our true nature in every circumstance, which is to be unconditional love. If someone asks me for help, I cannot say no. Saying no is not in our tradition, even if it puts me in trouble. It doesn’t matter.”

I was still annoyed and didn’t want to understand why Mohanji has to be so nice. But I was quiet on top. It wasn’t still over for me yet. The time came when they had to leave in the car. It wasn’t a very big car and it had to carry 4 passengers apart from the driver! That means 3 people to sit in the back seat. In normal circumstances, Mohanji would have sat in the front and just Deviji and maybe one more person would have sat in the back. Now with the two guests coming, can you imagine, Mohanji offered the front seat to one of the guests! And he quietly came and sat in the back seat. 2 hour long drive, cramped with 3 people in the back seat of a not very big car was no way a comfort. When I saw Mohanji sitting in the back seat, that was the end of my patience. My anger was bursting out as tears which I was trying hard to hide. Deviji was sitting in the middle seat, with her long legs folded and sitting not very comfortably either.

After they left, the rest of us ordered a cab and guess what, for the 3 of us, we received a huge 9 seater car! During the 2 hour journey in that 9 seater luxury car, I was just feeling so sad, imagining the condition in which Mohanji and Deviji went in the other car and here we are going luxuriously! This was of course yet another evidence of compassionate Mohanji who always makes sure that his people are comfortable. Whether he got the right food or not, we were fed well. Whether he travelled comfortably or not, we were sent a luxury car without any extra cost or specific ask!

I couldn’t stop questioning though, why did Mohanji accept to give them a lift in his car and had to compromise in his comfort!

Well finally, when we met again at our next destination, Mohanji came out of the car, after dropping the guests at their destination (and in fact after treating them with a nice vegan lunch), as if he wasn’t in any kind of discomfort what so ever.

It was so funny to hide our emotions and Mohanji just handled our bursting emotions in such an easy way. He told us how he kept joking, making the guests laugh all the way during the journey. Mohanji, in his usual jovial way even teased Barbara (who was driving the car), saying that she was so annoyed that she, in fact, wanted to drop them off at a train station. But Mohanji ensured that they were taken right till the end gate!

Mohanji_Devi

While Mohanji was telling all this in such a light and funny way, even we couldn’t stop laughing. Finally, through that laughter, the heaviness and anger or whatever feelings I had inside, all came out. And instead, my heart was filled with appreciation for Mohanji, to see how he demonstrated being truly unconditional. No matter who treats us in what way, we exhibit our true nature! It took me quite some time to overcome my turbulent emotions, but I understood through the example that Mohanji showed himself, the stability of the foundation on which Mohanji operates on.

A couple of days back, Mohanji again demonstrated a similar example of unconditional nature and that brought this memory back to me.

Once again, a high profile leader needing some help sent a generic message out to Mohanji, with no personal mention. This was kind of a public note probably he had sent out to loads of other people, as I had received it from another source too. Sending a public note and sending it to Mohanji, who was at one point like a close friend to him, without even personal addressing, didn’t seem very respectful in my eyes. Especially when you are seeking help, at least a personal note is a minimum curtesy, I would think.

My mind said when such an impersonal public note comes; do I need to even attend to it? Well, that’s how ordinary people like me will react. Once again, Mohanji is Mohanji. He took me by surprise. While I was almost convinced to ignore this particular request, Mohanji said, “Go ahead, and do help if you can, regardless of how the request came. We will do our job, unconditionally helping whenever we can.” Within a few moments, I did what I needed to.

My head bowed down with respect and my heart filled up with appreciation and a proud feeling of my Guru Mohanji, who reminded me yet again, “Our tradition is about unconditional love.”

Mohanji, truly is unconditional. Pranams to my Guru who shows us the right path every time, in all circumstances. Thank you Mohanji. Koti pranams at your lotus feet.

Surrender and let go

Mohanji bow

By Shefali Magan, India

The experience of waiting to expect good news in a couple’s life nowadays is nerve-wracking. Everybody has a story and I am no different in that respect. This is the divine energy that flows within me and my husband in the journey of just two and a half months with Mohanji.

I am from Chandigarh. I have a doctorate in literature and my husband is in the army, hence currently in Pune for the last six months. I had seen Mohanji’s framed photo once at my senior colleague’s office. Before I could ask her about him, she had left the room. One other morning, I visited my gynaecologist Col. (Dr.) Nikita for a check-up as I was undergoing fertility treatment. There I saw Mohanji’s photo again, in her office, placed on a high pedestal. I used to see him daily and bow my head to pay my respects but never could gather the courage to bring up the topic of Mohanji with my doctor during the consultations.

Mohanji profile

Coming back to my follow up scans, the results of the tests weren’t satisfactory.  So this time, before I could take leave from her office, I asked reluctantly about Mohanji’s photo on the shelf and his divine eyes which seemed to be all around us. That was the day Dr. Nikita showed me the path of purity, faith, and surrender to our Mohanji.  Wasn’t this reason enough to thank my doctor who selflessly guided me to chant and pray to Mohanji for the betterment of my health?  And I always felt that sometimes, against all odds, and against all logic, we still hope.

During the strict lockdown, a few months back, I was missing my own father dearly, who passed away three years back. And soon after my treatment with Dr. Nikita restarted, through her benevolent nature, I got the opportunity to get connected to Mohanji. Shukran (gratitude) to our beloved Mohanji, for blessing me and helping me in my life by being someone whom I can bank upon like my own heavenly Father.

As a result, my subsequent scans slowly and gradually started getting better. A few months back, my egg quality and quantity were not at all up to the mark. But due to Dr. Nikita’s faith and Mohanji’s grace, the quality and the number both increased. We are simple people and for me and my husband, it was a miracle in my case. I was overjoyed and relieved to the point of tears. The cycle culminated in the retrieval of 14 eggs. What was more impressive was that Dr. Nikita never gave up on me. Her un-stinted support and camaraderie sailed me through this emotional journey of treatment. I am incredibly grateful to her and will always be in my life.

POP

Along with her, throughout my treatment, I walked on the path of faith and surrender to Mohanji.  Also, as suggested by her, I joined the 41 days of the Power of Purity Meditation program. That was more than a program. It transformed me inside out; my thoughts and views towards others changed, and most importantly cleansing within me happened, which we often forget to do.  Prayers work and it’s powerful. I could hear Mohanji saying to me, that he is working on my behalf when I pray to him. Isn’t it pure, divine, and unconditional love?

Once we have dared to take the plunge, very soon we realise there is nothing better than surrendering to Mohanji. I have taken a pledge to serve Mohanji throughout my life, till my last breath.

Love and gratitude

Shree Mohanji

Enjoy reading these three beautiful expressions of gratitude from our Mohanji family members. Mohanji says his presence is always with us, but we are not always aware of it. These experiences show us yet again that when the yearning is true, he makes sure that his love and grace is felt by us.

Jameela Jeyaraj, India

When I dived into an abyss of darkness and sadness a year back, my friend Mala insisted that I read about Mohanji and gifted me the Power of Purity book.  One look into the extremely powerful eyes of Mohanji on the cover of the book, and time just stood still.

While reading the book, curiously I tried out the Power of Purity meditation, and amazingly, Mohanji’s divine soulful voice transported me into a world of absolute silence and peace.  I love the meditation so much, I practice it often. Through the meditation, I have learned to bless all, people I love and those whom I thought I hated.

Through the Power of Purity meditation, I have learned to evolve to a higher frequency. It also kindles me into the path of spiritualism. Today, I have only expressions of gratitude and gratefulness to my greatest Master, Mohanji.  Without doubt, I am so blessed. I place my koti pranams at Mohanji’s lotus feet.

“Gratitude.Grace. Growth. They are all related and interconnected. Gratitude ensures Grace. Grace ensures Growth. These three aspects deliver LOVE, LIFE and GODLINESS in us.” – Mohanji

Deborah Davidson, Canada

On Thursday, April 9 2020, I was sitting with my tablet muted ready to begin the morning’s 7 am chanting with Eric and Cini, here in Victoria. Sara Sydney joined us this morning.

My phone was sitting on my left, a foot or more away, face up black screen when I saw the screen flash. I had not touched it since signing into the Zoom session. What appeared was a photo of Mohanji and Sai Baba. Two photos superimposed on each other.

Sai was in profile facing right in the foreground. Mohanji was in the background facing forward. They were both wearing headscarves of deep blue and the background was a deeper blue, almost purple.

It stayed on my screen but was gone when we finished the Gayatri Mantra chanting and I cannot find it anywhere in my history on the phone.

What I do have is a deep sense of peace and well-being as it should be with the world, and a strong heart presence of both Mohanji and Sai in my life, with us as we chanted. The beautifully vivid image is stored in my heart.

mohanji-and-sai

Jai Mohanji! Jai Sai Baba! With love, awe, and gratitude.

Pravin Thakkar, UK

I am always with you – these are the words we hear time and again from our beloved Mohanji. It was my 70th birthday on the 17th of November. During the whole day, I felt that I really needed to talk to Mohanji and receive his blessings, but for some reason I did not have the courage to either message him or call him.

On the 19th, I read on the Mohanji UK Facebook page that there had been a Mohanji Acharya programme held on the 17th, on the same day as my milestone birthday. It was at the request of a Mohanji family member who wanted to celebrate her birthday and also wanted her friends and relatives to experience Mohanji’s presence and energy through the Acharya programme. At the cake cutting ceremony, Mohanji Acharya Subhasree played a recorded voice message from Mohanji, blessing this lady on her birthday.

I read this on Tuesday night before I went to sleep. Early Wednesday morning, I had a beautiful experience. I am not sure whether I was in a dream state or awake, but Mohanji was speaking to me, and telling me that on my birthday he called me many times to bless me but did not get reply on my mobile phone, neither could he leave a voice message for me with a blessing (I had blocked my voice message). My wish to have Mohanji’s blessings was fulfilled so beautifully.

Once again, I am reminding myself of the need for constantly becoming aware of the countless little pesky flaws in my nature that stand in the way of making my inner aspirations more sincere, true, and complete.

I feel immensely grateful to our ever compassionate Father, Mohanji. My humble prostrations at your lotus feet.

An attitude of gratitude

mohanji-m-org

Two lovely ladies from the Mohanji family share with us their expressions of deep gratitude to Mohanji, for his love and protection in their lives every moment in time.

“What can be the highest prayer? The prayer of gratitude. Those who are grateful are also graceful. They are filled with Grace.” – Mohanji

Kim Khim, South Africa

As you all know, I tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. I was tested on the 17th of March and received the results on the 23rd. As you can well imagine, I was shocked and quite gutted by the news. I was put onto medication to treat my immediate flu-like symptoms and sent home to rest. I have spent all my time between then and now, in relative isolation.

During this lockdown/isolation period, I have had much time to reflect on my life and my spiritual journey.

It’s been a time of deep introspection, where one really looks at what is really important to one, and who is important to one. In my case, I too had to really face my mortality. There were moments where I thought if this is the end of the line for me, then so be it. I will go peacefully and gracefully. It has not been easy, and at times my breathing was a problem, but somehow I have managed to pull through this.

fears

I do believe that one’s faith and strength of mind are the two weapons against this pandemic. If you look inside and you turn to your God/faith/Guru etc., you will find all your answers and you will find peace in this time of crisis.

I have stuck with my vegetarian/vegan eating. I have taken many supplements like NAC, zinc, Vit C, propolis, and enjoyed the lemon/ginger teas that my beautiful daughters have schlepped up to me on a daily basis. I have been incredibly fortunate to have the love and support of my children, my mother, family, my dearest friends, and of course the Mohanji family who have unwaveringly been there for me with Mai-Tri, meditations, words of encouragement and upliftment.

Milica, Delo, Julie and Sjarn just kept bringing me back into the light, each time I fell apart. My daughters have been undeniably my two rocks. They have fed me and nursed me, looked after me like you would an infant. It’s just been a life-changing experience, where I as the parent, became their charge, and they took complete responsibility with no fear, and just became the most amazing two moms to me.

With all this being said, I have now tested negative to this virus. I have recovered from it. I still have a way to go in terms of complete healing of my lungs (as I am asthmatic). Please all be safe! And thank you for your messages, prayers and good wishes. It’s this energy which saved my life!

Thank you to our beloved Mohanji, who kept me in his hand and protected me. I know that you are always with me!

Anonymous, India

I would like to share a miracle which happened a few days ago. I was preparing a sweet dish with rice, moong dal and jaggery. Rice and dal were getting cooked in one pan and in another pan, the syrup of jaggery was getting ready. The rice and dal mixture was ready and the jaggery syrup was boiling and almost ready.

gratitude

Before I could remove the syrup and pour it into the rice and dal mixture, I don’t know what happened, the pan in which the jaggery syrup was boiling, slipped from the gas cooker and the hot syrup fell on my right foot. You may wonder what happened next. The syrup should have got stuck to my foot and burnt it and I would have been howling in pain. But why fear when Para Brahma Mohanji is there.

Nothing that you might have expected to happen turned true. The syrup which fell on my foot didn’t give me the slightest discomfort. I didn’t feel the heat, nor was there any mark on my foot. I just washed my foot and there was no trace of anything! Of course, I had to clean my kitchen many times.

I am sure it was our Mohanji who had come and saved me from what could have been a bad accident.  Thank you so much for saving me and for always being there when I need you.

Love you loads, dearest Mohanji.

Acceptance and Faith

By Nameshri Chetty, South Africa

Mohanji says that before birth, we choose each moment of our life. In times of challenges, we think, “Oh my hat! What possessed me to choose these experiences.” With the awareness of acceptance and faith, life becomes easier to embrace.

In Jan 2017, my son was diagnosed with Lymphoma. It was something that came out of the blue; we were just starting to get into the rhythm of living as a single mom of two children. My first call was to Mohanji even before the diagnosis had been made. Right from the onset, Mohanji had advised me to go with the process, listen to the doctor regarding medical treatment. I had handled many challenges, but this challenge concerning my child was totally new. Being a single mother firstly is not the easiest. When moments like this come up, without support from the father, it really tests your metal. There is no one else to help take the strain off or rather share the weight of the experience.

Mohanji bless

Mohanji had been my only strength throughout this period. I found strength in the fact that I knew he was supporting me and my children. Each chemo, I went in with full faith that all will be well. Everything seemed seamless and the process flew by. I was very composed through it all. There was an inherent calmness that came over me; it was the thought of knowing that Mohanji was already overseeing everything. I remember him saying that we have to go through this as it is karmic. I felt as if even my responsibilities with my daughter seemed to flow smoothly, allowing me to fulfil my duties.

From the time of diagnosis, getting a specialist immediately, starting treatment within 2 weeks of diagnosis, having the courage to live life normally, this was all Mohanji’s grace. Mohanji helped me get through this life experience with total detachment and full acceptance. There was no time for self-pity, only purpose was felt.

acceptance

In June 2017, my son was free of cancer; it was shocking how time had flown by. When I look back, I had cut myself off everything and everyone, my only focus was getting my children/family through this. My only strength undoubtedly was Mohanji.

In his teachings, he constantly reminds us of faith and acceptance. This was a true example of this teaching. I was willing to accept any outcome as I had faith that it was as it should be.

faith

Mere Mahadev (My Lord Shiva), I surrender graciously and humbly at your feet as you are the beginning and end of all that is and all that is not.

I glide on the breath of your grace.

Kalpataru Series – A day of grace and gratitude

Mohanji Laughing

By Chitra A S, Kerala, India

Mohanji has always taken care of our wishes, small or big. We realise at some point how beautifully he fulfills our wishes. I am thankful to the Kalpataru – Mohanji, The wish-fulfilling treeseries through which I would like to share how some of my wishes have been fulfilled by Mohanji and his instruments.

I had been noticing on FB the photos of Gapless Breathing done in various places. I always wondered how can I experience this powerful technique given by Mohanji. Since this is a very special technique, it only happens either on Retreats or in Acharya Programs by Mohanji Acharyas, that too only by a few who are trained. We did not have any Acharyas in Kerala who could do it. I felt I will receive this when I am eligible. So, I surrendered my wish to Mohanji.

A few days later, I messaged Subhasree and I thought of inquiring more about this training. By the end of the conversation, we had an Acharya program planned in Kochi in about 8 days, where she would conduct Gapless Breathing! She was only briefly landing at Kochi airport en route to her in-law’s place and such a program was not in her agenda earlier! I had no words to say besides thanks to Mohanji for fulfilling my wish so soon through his Acharya.

There was barely one week to arrange the program! We had no idea how many people would attend at such short notice. Nevertheless, we decided to keep it simple, organising it in my house and I conveyed the information with all the people locally that I knew. Subhasree was happy with the arrangements and we finalised the program. I was on top of the world. I could see how beautifully Mohanji was arranging this, as that day it was also the special Bhagavat Gita day and Guruvayur Ekadasi. I felt this was Mohanji’s immense blessing for me to arrange such an event at our home. Mohanji was not only fulfilling my wish, but he also blessed me with such an opportunity. I say it was Mohanji’s blessings because we were in a dilemma of whether to arrange a hall or to do at home, as we only had very few days and not enough publicity. I finally, did a ‘lucky dip’ in front of Mohanji’s photo to see where this program should be conducted – in the hall or at my house,  and the answer was ‘at your house.’

As the days were passing, initially, I was a bit worried about getting enough participants. Then I realised why should I worry about it? It is Mohanji’s program and Mohanji should decide on who can join the program. I surrendered wholeheartedly to Mohanji. I am just a participant here and was very excited as my wish of experiencing Gapless Breathing was getting fulfilled.

Subhasree and I
Subhasree and I

Mohanji heard me. My anxiety of who will be the attendees of this programme was taken care of him in such an amazing way. It was a leela of Krishna himself, which I realised a bit later. I wish to share with all of you some incidents that happened during this arrangement and the program.

One of my friends from our M family gave me her friend’s contact number to invite her and I made a call to that person. The lady on the other side felt sad because she had booked to travel to Bangalore and so would not be able to attend the program. I messaged my M friend about it and she asked me to call her again to request her to share the information about this program with her group of friends. So, again I called that lady. I could hear the lady sobbing and she started talking to me, “Madam, I was thinking about ending my life when you called me first!” I was shocked as she shared her story. I talked to her for fifteen minutes (Although using ‘I’, the words that were spoken to her for soothing her pain was entirely chosen by Mohanji) and she changed her unnecessary thoughts of suicide. I promised her a Power of Purity Meditation session soon. For me, it was a big shock initially which turned out to be a surprise at the end and I realised that Mohanji had operated through me.

After 4 days, I felt like calling a retired teacher who had come for a Power of Purity Meditation previously to my house, but she also had to attend a wedding that day. She, however, asked me for a Mai-Tri session for her neighbour some days later. But again, in the evening, for some reason I felt like calling her again to call her and invite her to attend the program in the afternoon if possible, with that neighbour. While I had slight hesitation thinking if it will look like I am persuading people to attend, later that evening I called her. I told her to avail of this great opportunity and asked her whether she really had to attend the wedding (did I just say that?). She cried saying that the wedding was not at all important and she needed to attend the program of Mohanji and shared a brief history of hers in a hurry. This came as a shock to me! I then realised it was indeed Mohanji who wanted me to contact her! But, my ego wasn’t allowing me to do so for hours. So, the Tradition decides who should attend, for sure.

pic 2

(This inspiring quote was sent to me by our Anitha Nandakumar when I conducted a POP Meditation at my house previously).

While the preparation for the event was going on, I had messaged Subhasree that I only had a Malayalam version of the book, ‘The Power of Purity‘. She spontaneously suggested that she would bring some books with her.

Finally, the day came, Subhasree arrived in Kochi and we received her from the airport and brought her to our house. After a short break and refreshments, we were ready to start the program. I was already feeling so happy that in spite of the short notice, we were about 10 of us. Before starting the program, Subhasree handed me the following things. I was delighted and speechless. I couldn’t get the words to thank her. I hadn’t expected her to bring all these things for me. A program of Mohanji in my house itself was more than anything I could have expected! This in itself was a surprise for the whole family and the participants who would be present that day!

books

I was speechless to see yet another leela of Mohanji and how he fulfilled my wish!

Yes, I had wished to get Guru Leela books and I also needed Mohanji’s cards, which I had struggled to get hold of. It was so sweet of Subhasree to bring all these things from the UK for me, which I understood that Mohanji fulfilling even this wish of mine. These were not simply books and cards, but pieces of evidence that Mohanji listens to us and fulfills our wishes.

As I started reciting the Bhagavat Gita and the Vishnu Sahasranama, slowly the rest of the participants joined me and we completed the chanting with devotion and focus.

Next was the power-packed Gapless Breathing session. Blood started circulating rapidly in the body during the session, which can be seen in the photos (all the faces were red). We could exactly experience the feeling of being a baby in a mother’s womb, feeling protected by our mother, thus giving us an assurance that all of us were within our favourite God or Guru and were protected by him/her.

gapless breathing

After the lunch break, we had the Group Mai-Tri session. This technique is also very special and for the first time, we were blessed to experience this. Only a few Mai Tri practitioners can conduct these group sessions. Once again, we were soaked in the powerful energy of beeja mantras, calling Dattatreya, Kali Maa, and Mohanji, and invoking the entire Guru Mandali. I really enjoyed this and didn’t want it to be over. But, the time flew by so fast and it was time to wind up.

When we offered Aarati to Mohanji, my eyes were filled with tears of gratitude, devotion and total surrender. I couldn’t thank him enough for fulfilling my wishes with so much compassion and even giving me more than I expected.

pic 5

After a tea break, everyone shared their experiences on both the sessions and Subhasree shared many Guru Leelas of Mohanji. Inspired by her, we all started to discuss our own experiences and we all felt joyful and rejuvenated after the powerful sessions. All the attendees were new to Gapless Breathing and the group Mai-Tri. Everyone felt high positive energy throughout the sessions. Some were new and hadn’t seen Mohanji yet. Gapless Breathing was breath purifying and group Mai-Tri was deeply cleansing.

These were the lovely words spoken by the participants.

“I was feeling tired and now I am feeling energetic and happy.”

“At the end of the session, my heart was filled with love, I felt joy and the pain in my leg seems to have decreased.”

“I’m feeling peaceful, silence and happy.”

“I saw Mohanji holding my hands firmly and went down some steps, and then saw myself with my family having some discussion. I’m also having a deep sleep.”

“I’m feeling happy and contented.”

“I have asthma, but now I am feeling comfortable after the breathing session. The group Mai-Tri felt powerful and I want to have individual Mai-Tri soon.”

“Earlier I had breathing trouble and I thought I had some heart issues. After Gapless Breathing, I’m feeling comfortable. Sometimes I used to feel negative energy and I felt like it was going away during group Mai-Tri. I’m feeling free and positive now.”

“I’m feeling happy, peaceful and grateful for having experienced such a beautiful session. It was an awesome experience. I used to sleep at 2 am because of the high humidity with only a few hours of sleep, but after this program, I’m sleeping well from about 9.30/10.30 pm.”

Thank you to Subhasree for being Mohanji’s instrument in conducting this beautiful program at my home.

My humble pranaams to you Mohanji, please let your grace be available to everyone through all of us. May everyone reading this post receive abundant grace from Mohanji and the Guru Mandali.

The Amazing Grace of the Master

Grace

By Ulla Bernholdt

In a month, I will be attending Mohanji’s Acharya training program in Serbia. This is a milestone for me, and I find it to be a good opportunity to look back on the year that has gone by in Mohanji’s Consciousness. Yes indeed, can you believe that just a year ago I had barely even heard of Mohanji!

I think it is important to keep track of our experiences, for the sake of remembering the grace of the Masters that made the journey possible, if we ever come to doubt how blessed we are.

Ulla 3

Like so many others who have met Mohanji in dreams, I am no exception. Before I met him, or consciously connected to Mohanji, I had a dream in which he appeared: We were seated outside in a garden, on a bench. Mohanji sat in the middle, a blond woman and I sat on either side of him. I leaned my head on his shoulder. The atmosphere was very loving and serene.

When I woke up, I was quite shocked. – It was a fact that I, in the dream leaned my head on his shoulder. To me, this suggests an act and a disposition of total surrender. – So, when I awoke, my mind went “Wait a minute, what is going on? I don’t know this man at all. I have never met him. How could I possibly surrender to him? Who is he by the way? What does all this mean?”

There was a difference of approach to Mohanji in my waking state and my dreams. In my dream, I had no problem with doubt or resistance. Mohanji works on subtle levels which are unknown to us.

In another testimony, I have told how Mohanji appeared to my inner eye in a temple high in the Swiss Alps, and how this made me want to go and meet him physically.

I went on the Himalayan retreat in Rishikesh, where I met Mohanji for the first time. Initially, I was quite skeptical towards him and the whole process that he offered. How do you know if a teacher is genuine? He suggests that we find out ourselves instead of listening to the opinions of others.

Ulla 2

I had much resistance towards guided meditations, Conscious Walking and Kriya. – No, this path I thought, was not for me!

But then, at a Satsang at the end of the program, I felt a big shift in consciousness. Thoughts disappeared. All of a sudden there were no memories to identify with. What was left was just empty space, awareness and a deep knowing that no matter what life or even death will bring, I will remain the same, nothing can affect me, I am eternal. Looking at Mohanji, there was no difference between us, not even a relationship between two separate beings existed.

Consciousness

I was in a state of silent bliss which lasted a little less than a week. – Mohanji tells us, that if a state is not permanent, it does not belong to us. It was an experience, and like all other experiences, it did not last. But this was a life-changing one, and it leads me to conviction, trust and faith in the path and the Master.

This state of induced samadhi has nothing really to do with me, but everything to do with Mohanji, it shows the stature of our Master, where he is capable of leading you. Now I do not doubt that He is connected to the Source, that He is one with the Source. He is Shiva or Consciousness itself. This is His Divine gift and revelation. It is a priceless gift, given free to everyone. Out of unconditional love and compassion, he gives himself fully.

Just think about it; that moment in time I did not consider to become a follower of Mohanji, on the contrary, I was rather skeptical, but still, this gift was given to me freely, a newcomer and a mere beginner. What an amazing Grace to receive! Again, this tells me about his stature, that there is no limitation to His love. All we need to do is to be open and in a disposition of surrender for the Grace to flow. Where that Grace will lead us, we have no idea.

No need to say that this event has had a major impact on me. Mohanji cleared so much suffering and agony in me. Since I connected with him, a lot of fear and negativity has gone. In fact, before I met Mohanji, I felt so negative, I didn’t care much if I lived or died, it all seemed such a waste of time.

mohanji-liberation

That has certainly changed. Awareness, self-acceptance and a strong sense of purpose have taken over my life. Through this, I was able to do some major life changes and find the courage to end abusive relationships, so that I was able to focus on positivity only. People keep telling me they noticed how much I have changed, and for the better, so it is very obvious to see even from the outside.

This I could never have done myself through any act or self-effort. Throughout the years, I have tried several therapies, healing modalities and spiritual paths, but none of them were able to clear the inherent negativity in me.

awareness

I have encountered immense love and support from other devotees in the M Family, who have treated me like their own. For months, I would go and meet Subhashree from London while she was working in Copenhagen. Being a pure instrument of Mohanji, she supported me in a selfless way, mentoring and helping me set up meditations in Denmark. She, her family and other devotees in the UK and India have kindly supported me in all kinds of ways, giving me job opportunities and opening up their homes for me to stay, without knowing me, trusting in me, only by the grace of Mohanji.

These are the blessings that are so obvious to me. I can see and feel their transforming effects every day. But the blessings that we are oblivious to might be even greater. What do we know in the end? Nothing! Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I was able to surrender fully to our Master. I pray to him that I will be able to do that by his amazing Grace.

Meeting my Guru

Mohanji and Bojana 2

by Bojana Fabel

It was in 2015, that I first met Mohanji, in Macedonia. This is how it all happened.

I had seen a Facebook advertisement, which said, “Satsang with Mohanji” and that it would be held in Skopje. I said to myself – “Oh, this is a great opportunity to finally be present at a real-life satsang!” I had watched satsangs of other Masters, Gurus and Acharyas, but only on YouTube.

I knew that Ziate, my high school friend was already connected to Mohanji. So, I immediately enquired about the same from him. He encouraged me and asked me to definitely attend the satsang.

I then contacted Zoran (Hanummatananda) to secure my place, and soon enough the day came when for the first time, I saw Mohanji. He was seated on his white chair, on a higher platform, dressed in white, talking and answering questions to a room full of people.

I still remember our very first eye-contact. He looked straight into my eyes, with a childish, yet fierce look. When I left the room after the satsang, I was enveloped with a feeling of purity, lightness and happiness, just like I would feel in my childhood days, so pure and blissful. That night, I had slept like a baby!

On the second day of the satsang, I was very happy to go back and meet Mohanji again. Not to forget, I was amazed at how calm He was, and more so, to see Him seated with His spine erect. I wanted to be like Him. (I am not joking).

mind

But to the contrary, while the satsang was on, I felt like I wanted to escape from this room, leave and run, as fast as I could, as something was happening to me! I was having a FULL BLOWN anxiety attack. Here, I must mention that I had gone through anxiety and panic attacks, the whole of the previous year, and you cannot imagine the terror I was going through in the mind and body sitting in front of a Guru, with an expectation that everything will be perfect. Instead, I was having an attack AGAIN! It was really hard.

recognise yourself

But all of a sudden, an unknown inner power woke up in me, which said – “NO YOU ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, YOU ARE STAYING HERE”. I suddenly felt strong and so I remained seated. I had won over an anxiety attack for the very first time after two years of suffering! This was the last anxiety I ever experienced, since then.

I believe that the last attack was meant to cleanse my system, in front of my Guru, by my Guru. It’s difficult to believe, complicated to understand unless some clarity appears and one sees the whole picture. It’s a secret that has stayed with the Gods and Mohanji, that He never shared with me.

But, all I know is, I am free from these attacks.

 The year of bliss

Ever since I met Mohanji, for the first time in 2015 (the year of transformation in His presence), I have been in a constant state of bliss, without any particular reason.

That year, I would wake up happy every day and spread smiles to the world. Every morning, I would share my experiences with Mohanji and many spiritual conversations with my father, during those beautiful sunny mornings in our lovely home garden. I call the year 2015, “The year of Bliss”.

The conditions in which I lived in Macedonia were far from perfect. I lived in an isolated village, where I had to travel for hours every day. This was after having lived in places, such as Geneva, in Switzerland; London, in the UK; and Singapore; where life was easier and far more convenient. Absence of conveniences of a well-developed city did not bother or affect me in any way. All I knew was – I was in Mohanji’s consciousness and He was taking care of my well-being at various levels.

It will always remain a mystery, the way Mohanji worked on me to miraculously bring me out of those two long years of suffering from deep anxiety and panic attacks, by just being in His presence for a day or two! I will never be able to explain this to anyone, apart from a few of my closest people, who had seen the change in me. Later, they too started following Mohanji and even met Him physically.

Guru is a principle which can operate through any medium, any being or any situation. Guru needn’t even be a walking, talking being. It can even be an understanding which happens in your mind. It can be the tree, or the leaves, or the wind. Certain revelations happen when we see certain things”. – Mohanji

As the days went by, I kept soaking in Mohanji’s consciousness, unlearning and letting go of the mind itself and transforming, for which I shall always remain at His lotus feet with deep gratitude.

flow with life

I must admit, that sometimes, I am gripped by this thought – “I am not any special being. Then, what is it that I have done in this life or past lives to deserve His divine love and protection?” I truly don’t know where would I be and how life would’ve been, without His grace and unconditional love.

I must also mention how His unconditional love was filling my own unfulfilled self-love needs, probably far more beyond what the eyes can see.

I look at Mohanji as God’s miracle and I hope that I am conscious enough to appreciate His presence in my life. I know that whatever I do will never be enough to honour the grace bestowed upon me, but I will keep striving to be my best forever.

I love you Mohanji!
